INT. MUSEUM. DAY.
A tour guide leads a group of school children trough the
museum. The exhibition is named "After the fall: human
history since the asteroid impact of 2004"
The tour guide stops before a diorama depicting a family
shortly after the events of "A.I Day"
TOUR GUIDE
As you can see. The events of the
asteroid impact or "A.I. Day"
were pretty catastrophic!
TOUR GUIDE
These are the conditions a family
would have been living in from
the day of the impact. Some
families spent decades living
rudimentary shelters.

The group move on to another diorama depicting a hospital

room filled with patients.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
On A.I day the number of living
creatures on the planet dropped
dramatically, not since the great
plague of London had the death
rate spiked so quickly.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
And even then the numbers were
nothing compared to what we saw
on A.I Day!
SCHOOL KID #1
How many died?

TOUR GUIDE
No official number was ever
released but it is estimated that
around one billion lives were
lost.

SCHOOL KID #2
A billion? how many people are
alive now?
TOUR GUIDE
Well not these numbers aren’t
exact or official but we are
coming up to around seven billion
people now.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 2.

SCHOOL KID #1
Seven?
TOUR GUIDE
Yes seven. So we have regained
the number lost on A.I Day, and
then some.
The tour guide turns and begins to walk towards the next
diorama.

TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)

Next up we have a recreation of
one of the first modern buildings
built after the rebuilding
process began.

School Kid #1 stands staring at a nurse in a photograph on

the wall next to the diorama. The nurse looks like Isabel
Stern aka Impact.
SCHOOL TEACHER
Come along, you’re missing some
fascinating history!

INT. SAINT JOHN’S HOSPITAL. DAY.

Isabel Stern is sitting in the break room of Saint Johns

Hospital. In front of her on the table is a coffee in a
take away cardboard container and an open magazine
featuring this seasons latest looks.
Betty, another nurse enters the room.

BETTY
My oh my I am so glad my shift is
over!
IMPACT
Hey Betty, I didn’t know you were
on today.
BETTY
I’m covering for Sue, she called
in sick. If you ask me I think
she had one too many last!
IMPACT
maybe she really is sick...

BETTY
Child, the only thing wrong with
that girl is her total lack of
respect for the job. How she’s
still here I don’t know.

Betty pulls on her jacket and grabs her bag.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 3.

BETTY (cont’d)
Well, I will see you tomorrow
Hun!
IMPACT
Hold on. I need to pick up a few
things before my break is over.
I’ll walk out with you.
Betty points to the open magazine.

BETTY
You getting yourself a fancy new
look to impress Mr Right? Sugar?
IMPACT
Ha! maybe when I have the time to
shop for a social life I don’t
seem to have.

EXT. SAINT JOHN’S HOSPITAL. DAY

Impact and Betty exit the hospital, arms linked and

smiling.
BETTY
Why don’t you ask out that new
attending? oh what’s his name?
IMPACT
I have no idea who you are
talking about.

BETTY
Oh you know! tall, dark hair,
blue eyes.
IMPACT
I’m not kidding, stop it!
The pair are suddenly aware of police sirens and look for
the source of the sound.
Around the corner a truck with a small tanker on the back,
driven by a scrawny looking man. he is obviously high and
excitable. the truck is being pursued by several police
cars.
The driver swings the wheel back and forth aiming for
parked cars.

DRIVER
YEAH! WOOOO! Hahahahah!
The driver hits the curb and blows a tire. The truck flips
onto its side, rolls and slides across the ground.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 4.

BETTY
oh my god!
Impact grabs Betty and pushes her out of the way.

BETTY (cont’d)
ugh!
Impact is hit by the truck which bursts into flames.

Bystanders, police and hospital staff crowd the area.

Betty is pulled away from the flames by several police
officers.
BETTY (cont’d)
NOOOOOO! Let go of me! IZZY!
OFFICER #1
Miss please, calm down we need to
get you away from the flames.

BETTY
No! get off’a me! let-
Isabel steps out of the flames her clothes are all but
destroyed by she looks perfectly healthy.

BETTY (cont’d)
oh my god...

INT. T.R.A.C.E.R HQ. TRAINING ROOM. DAY.

Six months later inside the head quarters of T.R.A.C.E.R

Tactical Reconnaissance and Conflict Earth Resource.
Impact stands inside a huge white and grey panelled room.
On the other side of a two way mirror stands Agent
Stephenson, government liaison to the team.

The pair communicate with each other via a two way radio
headset.
AGENT STEPHENSON
All right Miss Stern, if you
would be so kind as to sign into
the simulation you can begin when
ready.
IMPACT
okay...

IMPACT (cont’d)
Computer? log in, user ... impact

ready.

AGENT STEPHENSON
Just relax, take your time with
it.
IMPACT
Here we go ... I guess.
IMPACT (cont’d)
Computer run program.
COMPUTER
Running Program.
A figure appears behind Impact. Dressed in a black
jumpsuit.

IMPACT
Err... have we started yet?
The figure in black begins to sprint towards Impact.
IMPACT (cont’d)
Y’know I think this may be
broken.
The figure closes in on Impact.
Impact throws her fist over her shoulder and hits the
figure in black square in the face.
IMPACT (cont’d)
Or is just your nose that’s
broken?

Impact thrusts out her leg and knocks the figure in black
across the empty pace until it skids to a stop.
IMPACT (cont’d)
I hope that’s not it. Feels like
a bit of a wasted effort.

AGENT STEPHENSON
Please stay focused. This is not
supposed to be fun.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (3) 6.

IMPACT
Well I’m sorry, but it kinda is.
AGENT STEPHENSON
Is that a fact?
The figure in black picks itself up and begins a
transformation process. The figure physically increases
its body mass to twice its size in all directions.

The enlarged figure begins to sprint towards impact.

IMPACT
oh...
The enlarged figure strikes Impact on the chin and sends
her flying through the air across the room.

INT. MUSEUM. DAY.

The tour of school children continues though the exhibit.

The tour stops in front of a map of the globe. Many major

cities across the continents are highlighted. These are
cities that were destroyed on A.I. Day.
TOUR GUIDE
This map here shows us the level
of devastation the Earth faced on
A.I. Day.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
As you can see, many cities that
were once known across the planet
were taken out. Some where
partially destroyed but became
unlivable.

TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)

large parts of the planet were
unaffected by asteroids or
suffered very few or minor
impacts.

SCHOOL KID #1
What happened to them?
TOUR GUIDE
Well Australia for example
suffered very few impacts, mainly
in the unpopulated desert. The
did face a struggle however,
Countries like Australia, Canada,
Russia. Took in refugees from the
worst hit areas.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 7.

TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)

Even we, welcomed people from the
impact hot spots. They city we
live in now is here now because
of the immigrants. If It were not
for them, the ground we stand on
would still be a crater.
The tour guide make their way to the next map. It is a
close up of county of Yorkshire. The photographs next to
is depict the city of New Arcadia though the course of its
existence.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
This region of the country was
littered with falling debris from
the asteroid.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
An American business man named
William Theodore Jones acquired
the land and began construction
of the city using British and
American labourers.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
The result of this combined
workforce and Jones’ marriage to
a royal, Lady Elizabeth Denning
created a mixture of styles.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
This Anglo-American design fusion
built a city which is both
English and American. This
concept can be seen in most of
our rebuilt cities.
SCHOOL KID #1
Really?
SCHOOL TEACHER
Its true, I grew up in Cardiff
and the architecture and layout
is very much a fusion of
cultures.
The tour guide moves the group onto the next item. A scale
model of New Arcadia.

TOUR GUIDE
This is the end result. The heart
of the city is laid out in
avenues and cross streets
creating blocks that lead to
pockets of English town planning.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (3) 8.

TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)

"Up town" where we are currently
is laid out in the same American
fashion but the design of the
buildings is very traditional for
the region.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
"Down town" however is designed
very much like the old Towns and
cities of this country.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
Even though the buildings have
been built upon and re-designed
there is still a feel of the
shambles about it in certain
neighbourhoods.

INT. T.R.A.C.E.R HQ. MED BAY. DAY.

Impact is sitting on a gurney in the Med bay. Agent

Stephenson stands at the side of the room leaning on a
work surface.
Doctor Parker is moving towards the exit.

DOCTOR PARKER
She’ll be fine, no real harm
done.
AGENT STEPHENSON
Thank you Doctor Parker.
IMPACT
Yeah... Thanks Doc.
Doctor Parker exits the room.

IMPACT (cont’d)
You were right! okay?
AGENT STEPHENSON
I’m not here to scold you. I’m
here to ask you a question.
AGENT STEPHENSON (cont’d)
Do you want to make a difference?
Do you want to be on the team?

IMPACT
Yes! Its why I’m here.
AGENT STEPHENSON
Then if you would like to cut
down on the jokes? and

would be much appreciated.
AGENT STEPHENSON (cont’d)
We are all indebted to you
Isabel, you have an amazing gift
and you are going to help us
achieve what we set out to do.

Agent Stephenson walks across the room and stands beside

Impact.
AGENT STEPHENSON (cont’d)
Your abilities mean you could do
so much in this world. So many
good things. We just want you to
reach your potential.
IMPACT
This is the nicest dressing down
I think I ever had to sit though.

AGENT STEPHENSON
I’m not here to mould you into a
soldier, I’m here to help you
save the world.

Impact and Agent Stephenson move to exit the Med bay.

IMPACT
Before we save the world...
IMPACT (cont’d)
Can I shower first?

INT. T.R.A.C.E.R HQ. COMMUNAL SPACE. DAY.

Impact is sitting by the window in the communal living
space inside the personnel living quarters of the
T.R.A.C.E.R building.
Impact stares out of the window deep in thought.

IMPACT
(text box)
Am I cut out for this?
IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
I’m starting to think I rushed
into this.
IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
Does that make me a bad person?
Should I feel bad?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 10.

IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
Oh my god! will you listen to me?
I’m a super hero and I’m feeling
sorry for myself.
IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
Super hero, that always makes me
smile. Little old me

IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
A super hero!
Andy Sikes AKA IGNITION enters the communal space from his
room on the far side of the area. He is wearing sweat
pants and and T.R.A.C.E.R hooded top whilst drying his
hair on a towel.
Ignition is headed for the kitchen area.

IGNITION
Hey
IMPACT
Hi Andy!

IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
I’m nothing like Andy though,
some how he just gets it.

IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
We both got here about the same
time and he seems to be so far
ahead of me.

IMPACT (cont’d)
(text box)
They say his power is "Molecule
Manipulation" but I’m starting to
think he has some kind of super
powered brain!

IGNITION searches for a mug in the cupboards.

IGNITION
How did it go today?

IMPACT
Great! Right up until he knocked
me on my ass.
IGNITION pours himself a coffee from the pot.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (3) 11.

IGNITION
Y’know I’d be happy to show you
some moves.

IMPACT
I think I’ll be okay.
IGNITION
I’m not trying to be funny, I
know you could break me in half
with your thumbs.
IMPACT
Ha! I doubt it
IMPACT (cont’d)
(thought balloon)
I so could!
IGNITION walks over to the circular couch and sits down.
IGNITION
I’m not kidding, you’re strong
enough to level a building but
brute strength alone won’t win
you a fight.

IGNITION (cont’d)
We can start small, defensive
stances, blocks, that kind of
thing.
IMPACT
I wouldn’t want to put you out.
IGNITION
Don’t worry about it. We’ll both
need to be on form when we get
out into the field.

IMPACT
You think we’re close to being
sent out?
IGNITION
Can’t be far off...
AGENT STEPHENSON enters the room from the large Elevator
leading into the personal quarters.
AGENT STEPHENSON
Good afternoon team.
IMPACT
Team?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (4) 12.

AGENT STEPHENSON
Yes, there is a small matter that
I need taking care of.

IGNITION
In the field?
AGENT STEPHENSON
Yes, I think this is something
you are more than capable of.

IMPACT
When do we start?

INT. T.R.A.C.E.R BRIEFING ROOM. DAY

AGENT STEPHENSON stands at the front of the briefing room

by a large glass display. IMPACT and IGNITION it in one of
the many high backed chairs in a staggered lay out.
AGENT STEPHENSON grabs a small remote and activates the
glass display. A digital map begins to glow from the glass
display.
AGENT STEPHENSON
This is the situation as we know
it. Early this morning a plane
carrying T.R.A.C.E.R supplies
went down.
AGENT STEPHENSON (cont’d)
The satellite images show the
plane down in North West
Scotland.
AGENT STEPHENSON (cont’d)
At this time we cannot tell if
the plane crashed or landed.

IGNITION
What was on the plane?
IMPACT
Or is it secret military stuff?

AGENT STEPHENSON
Nothing that I must keep secret.
It is a shipment of new combat
uniforms.

AGENT STEPHENSON (cont’d)

They were being flown to the
Arctic for field testing.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 13.

IGNITION
What about the crew?
AGENT STEPHENSON
There wasn’t one, the plane was
automated.
IMPACT
Automated?

AGENT STEPHENSON
Yes, we have a number of
automated craft. It was supposed
to drop its cargo at our Arctic
station and return to base.

IMPACT
Does this happen often?
AGENT STEPHENSON
Quite frequently, it was a
routine trip.

IGNITION
What’s our first move?
AGENT STEPHENSON
Head up to Scotland, a team of
agents are en route as we speak
and will rendezvous with you at
the possible crash site.
IGNITION
How will we get there?
AGENT STEPHENSON
We have a jet standing buy.
IMPACT
Errm, I don’t wanna b-
AGENT STEPHENSON
Its a manned plane!
IMPACT
Okay, just y’know, making sure.

INT. MUSEUM. DAY.

The tour group stands around a series of glass cases, in
each there is a different technological advancement from
the last one hundred years.
TOUR GUIDE
In the first case you can see a
mobile phone that pre-dates A.I.

TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
Now this phone is a little out of
date now, we have had it for two
years and its showing its age.
TOUR GUIDE (cont’d)
This model for example lacks the
3D projection and scanning of
most current models.
SCHOOL KID #2
What’s this?

The tour guide moves over to the child.

TOUR GUIDE
Ah, that is a video games
console. It was connected to a
television and at the time was
the hight of home computer
graphics.
SCHOOL KID #2
So you played it on a flat
screen?
TOUR GUIDE
Yes, the machine was operated by
this hand held controller and-

SCHOOL KID #1
Where there any 3D games?
TOUR GUIDE
Not at that time. Now of cause
this unit is much smaller and
connected to your imaging unit.
SCHOOL KID #1
That’s stupid!

SCHOOL KID #2
I like this, the controller
thingy.
SCHOOL KID #1
you’re stupid...

SCHOOL TEACHER
That’s enough. Pay attention.
The TEACHER moves to the next case and stands behind a
small group of children. In the case stands a book and a
current digital reader.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (3) 15.

SCHOOL TEACHER (cont’d)

Now this is something special.
You don’t see many of these any
more.

TOUR GUIDE
Sadly yes, I’m guessing you all
know what this is?
SCHOOL KID #3
its a D-Reader!
SCHOOL TEACHER
Not that one!
SCHOOL KID #3
Oh, its a book...
TOUR GUIDE
Yes, of cause they still are
produced but not on the same
scale. These days it is mainly
digital.
SCHOOL TEACHER
They don’t make them like this
any more.

INT. JET. DAY.

A military styled jet Is flying high over England on its
way to Scotland. The sun is beginning to set in the west.

IMPACT and IGNITION sit in the open plan cabin of a

military jet behind the PILOT and CO-PILOT.
IMPACT
What do you think we’ll find?

IMPACT (cont’d)
Apart from a jet I mean?
IGNITION
I’m not sure, might be nothing.

IGNITION (cont’d)
Either way this is our first time
out in the field as a team, so
lets just keep our heads...

IGNITION (cont’d)
Stay frosty.
IMPACT
Hahaha!

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 16.

IGNITION
What?
IMPACT
Oh, Oh god! I’m sorry, I just
didn’t expect you to say that.
IGNITION
Is this gonna be a problem? Me
being placed in charge I mean.

IMPACT
No, no problem.
IGNITION
’Cause if there is I want to know
now. I was placed command for
this trip and I want you to know
its no reflection on you.
IMPACT
I know, to be honest I don’t have
a problem taking orders.
IMPACT (cont’d)
From you or Alison.

IGNITION
Agent Stephenson...
IMPACT
Huh?

IGNITION
In the field I think its best if
we keep it formal, Impact.
IMPACT
Okay, sure... Ignition.

INT. MUSEUM. DAY.

The tour has ended and the party of school children are in
the museum gift shop.

The TOUR GUIDE and the SCHOOL TEACHER are standing to one
side.
SCHOOL TEACHER
Here’s my number and my
E-Address.
TOUR GUIDE
T-thanks!

SCHOOL TEACHER
You can get me on either of those
at any time.

SCHOOL KID #2 is climbing up a shelving unit to reach a

model of a twentieth century car.
SCHOOL TEACHER (cont’d)
Hang on... Will you get down from
there!

The SCHOOL TEACHER walks over to the climbing child.

The TOUR GUIDE stands staring at the card she has just
been given.

SCHOOL KID #1 walks over to the TOUR GUIDE.

SCHOOL KID #1
Today was really interesting.
TOUR GUIDE
Well I’m glad you enjoyed it.
SCHOOL KID #1
It was fun to learn what happened
and stuff.

TOUR GUIDE
Good, if its not fun I don’t
think I’m doing my job properly.
SCHOOL KID #1
No it was fun, well seeya!
TOUR GUIDE
Bye...
The child runs back to the group that has formed around
the exit.
SCHOOL TEACHER
Right! has everybody paid?
SCHOOL GROUP
Yes, Yeah, Yes sir!, Yes sir! Yo!
The TOUR GUIDE waves to the SCHOOL TEACHER who throws her
a smile in return.

IGNITION exits his seat and moves away from the others.

IMPACT

IGNITION
Stop it-

AGENT STEPHENSON is n the other line. She is sat in her

office behind her desk
IGNITION (cont’d)
Hello, yes I’m reading you.

AGENT STEPHENSON
Good, you should be closing in on
the site. I just wanted to run by
the plan once more.

IGNITION
Yes ma’am. We will rendezvous
with the ground team at 2000
hours. Proceed towards the the
planes location and discover the
reason for its current location.

AGENT STEPHENSON
Good, very good...
IGNITION
Everything all right ma’am?

AGENT STEPHENSON
Yes everything’s fine. I’d just
rather be with you on your first
field exercise but I have duties
here.

IGNITION
We’ll be fine, everything will be
fine.
AGENT STEPHENSON
Contact me if you need anything.
IGNITION
Yes ma’am, we will.

IGNITION
Impact will you please get your
head in the game?

IMPACT
Sorry, just a little excited, a
little nervous...
PILOT
We are closing in on the

AGENT STEPHENSON
Oh, thank you. Tell him I will be

the city. Attached to the file is a small picture of a
girl taken from a distance.

AGENT STEPHENSON exits her office and enters the next room

WILLIAM JONES

your figure, and find out what
the hell you have done to my
plane?

INT. JET. NIGHT.

near the rear of the plane. IGNITION is pulling on a
parachute.

IGNITION
I know you’re excited Izz. Just
try and relax. We don’t want to
screw up our first time off the
lead do we?
IMPACT
Its Impact in the field...
IGNITION
Oh I-
IMPACT
Just relax Ignition. Enjoy it.
PILOT
Twenty seconds!
IMPACT opens the door to the plane.
IGNITION
