    Thereisnotanythingterriblycomplicatedaboutdrivingacaronaskidpad.Adriversimplyaccelerates
    steadilyaroundaspecificradiuscircleuntilthetiresbegintoloseadhesionandthecarcangonofaster
    withoutdrivingoutsideofthecircle.Atthatpoint,thecar'sspeedisrecordedand,throughthe
    formulaforcentripetalforce(F=mv/r),abaselineforitshandlingcapabilitiesintermsoflateralg
    forcesisdetermined.

    Thenthefunbegins.Byadjustingthetiresandthechassiscomponents,thecar'shandlingcapabilities
    canbechangedforthebetterorworse.Wheelcamber,caster,toeinandtirepressurearejusta
    fewoftheadjustmentsthatcanaffectacar'shandling.Ifthat'snotenough,there'sthecompression
    andreboundoftheshocksonallfourcornerstoconsider,alongwithspringrates(againonallfour

    ontheskidpad.

    Thusdoesaracecarengineerdevelopamethodicalapproachtochassistuning;tonotonly
    understandhowtoalterthechassissetuptoachieveitsmaximumperformanceintheory,buthowto
    tailorthatchassissetuptothechangingconditionsoftheracetrack(isitwetordry,hotorcold)and,
    mostchallengingofall,tothelikesanddislikesofhisorherdriver.

    Speakingofthedriver,theCentripetalCircuitisalsotheidealenvironmentforadrivertoplaywith
    hisorherracecar;tolearnhowtoinduceandcopewithoversteerandundersteer,andexperience
    drivingnear,atoroverthelimitwithoutfearofdamage.

    development.Afterall,amyriadofrealworldfactorsdifficulttoreplicateontheskidpad,including
    differenttracksurfaces(asphalt,concrete)andvaryingtrackconditions(billiardtablesmoothtorough
    androughersometimesonthesameracetrack),haveadramaticimpactonacarsperformance.
    Anddrivingacaronthelimitontheskidpadisnothinglikedoingthesameonaracetrackwithtwo
    dozenormoreracecarsincloseproximity.However,theCentripetalCircuitremainsoneofracings
    essentialtools.
