TheCentripetalCircuit(akaskidpad)isatoncethemostessentialandrudimentarytoolintheracer's
arsenal.There'snothingfancyabouttheCentripetalCircuit.It'sjustalarge,flatand(preferably)
smoothareaofpavementonwhichacarcanbedriveninacirclewitharadiusof300feet.

Thereisnotanythingterriblycomplicatedaboutdrivingacaronaskidpad.Adriversimplyaccelerates
steadilyaroundaspecificradiuscircleuntilthetiresbegintoloseadhesionandthecarcangonofaster
withoutdrivingoutsideofthecircle.Atthatpoint,thecar'sspeedisrecordedand,throughthe
formulaforcentripetalforce(F=mv/r),abaselineforitshandlingcapabilitiesintermsoflateralg
forcesisdetermined.

Thenthefunbegins.Byadjustingthetiresandthechassiscomponents,thecar'shandlingcapabilities

Anddrivingacaronthelimitontheskidpadisnothinglikedoingthesameonaracetrackwithtwo

essentialtools.
