New Kiosk Arrives at the Post Office with more to come
Thanks to so many volunteers, the first phase of
the kiosk upgrade has been accomplished! Within
the next few weeks additional surrounds for the
base of the kiosk will be installed and the staining
of some of its components will complete the
installation.
When the summer rush is over our local contractor,
Travis Moore, will be installing the pavers, then
moderate greenery will be planted. It literally takes
a village!!
Thanks go to Mike Stuntz, Brad Simpson, Sean
Jackson, Tony Datillo, Forrest Taylor, Chris Baran-
Mickle, Sam Weinstock and John Tirrell for their
part in designing, constructing and installing the
kiosk, and to Bill Sibbett for supplying the
wormwood (clam hole) legs.

New Campfire Ring Arrives at Rose Maries Park July 11
A new campfire ring replaced the old fire box at Rose
Maries Park next to the dock on July 11th with help
from Gary Walker, Bob Kernaghan, Cap Lane and Jay
Stemmler. Also, thanks to Steve and Carrie Hickman
who showed up on the first day scheduled but were
unable to come on the day the fire ring finally came.
The old fire box was first emptied of its rocks and ash
and about 12 pounds of nails, screws, broken bottles,
bottle caps and melted aluminum foil, and then
removed on July 6th. The next day it went to recycle.
Above, Cap, Gary, Jay and Bob place the new fire ring.
The new campfire ring has a grill thats designed to
adjust about eight inches closer or farther away from Below, the week before, Billy Runnels takes a break after

temperatures. It will also flip completely back and out footings.
of the way for easier fire building, marshmallow
roasting or clean-out.
And then theres the new snuffer lid, coming soon,
designed to cover the fire so it wont smolder all night
long to the dismay of nearby residents. We ask
everyone to please extinguish their flames and then
cover the fire ring with the snuffer lid when theyre
done to cut down on smoke pollution.
Please remember to bring your own wood instead of
using driftwood. And remember that the park closes at
11:00 PM.
Out with the old fire box and in with the new fire ring.

smaller bucket next to the box held about 10 pounds of
glass and metal waste It was one of two loads taken to
the dumpster during a two day clean-out.
