ACTIVITIES
HCIS Residence promotes a culture of camaraderie, unity and friendship among boarders of
different cultural backgrounds. Activities and events in the boarding becomes a platform for
boarders to showcase their abilities and talents and a path for them to discover and explore
their other potentials.

New Boarders Orientation Programme Academic Programme

This event helps new boarders open doors for new
friendships, to introduce them to boarding life and
to prepare them for fruitful and happy years as a
HCIS student.
Enrichment Programmes
These programmes help boarders discover their
abilities and develop it into life skill or a meaningful
hobby; some of which includes baking lessons,
cooking lessons, photography workshop, etc.
Community Service Programmes
HCIS Residence also helps to promote social
responsibility among boarders. Various community
services such as clean-up drives, and recycling
activities help raise awareness among boarders to
become socially responsible citizens of the world.
Boarders who require assistance with regards to their
academic needs can find help from the Academic
Team. Teachers and Teaching Assistants (Residential)
work hand in hand in order to provide optimum support
and supervision to boarders who need help in the
academic aspect. The aim of the daily structured study
time in the evening is to develop independent learners
who are responsible for their own learning.
Boarding Council
The Boarding Council is composed of boarders who
were duly elected by their fellow boarders to
become the student government in HCIS
Residence. The Council works together with the
Teaching Assistants (Residential) in order to
provide a meaningful and joyful boarding life for
boarders.
