Lesson Plan for Flipped Classroom

I. Topic of the lesson: RULES FOR MAKING NOUNS PLURAL

II. Target Audience: 20 30 students, basic level, between 11 and 13 years old. High-
school students.

III. Ability of Students: Previous knowledge about singular nouns and plural nouns just
by adding and s.

IV. Duration of lesson: 50 minutes

V. Lesson Objectives:
Students will be able to change a singular noun to plural form.
Students will be able to apply rules for making nouns plural.
Students will be able to describe an image with examples of plural nouns.
Students will be able to use plural nouns in sentences.
Students will be able to illustrate and explain plural spelling rules in a small group mini
project.

VI. Additional Materials: Notebook, pictures which illustrate plural nouns, markers,
poster bond paper, glue, scissors, chart of rules for making nouns plural, At the park
(image).

VII. Step by Step Activities.


A. Have been watched the video at home, students are going to complete a chart in
pairs, in order to check what rules use to change singular to plurals nouns they
remember and learnt from the video at home, and also add examples applying them.
(10 minutes)
B. Teacher is going to give to each student an image named At the park, then
students are going to be asked, using the image, to make sentences in their
notebooks using plural nouns that they can see in the picture. (10 minutes)
C. Each student is going to read a sentence from the activity before. (5 minutes)
D. Teacher is going to make 6 groups of 5 students each one. They are going to receive
a group of pictures of different nouns, glue, scissors, and poster bond paper. Then,
they are going to illustrate and explain plural spelling rules by doing a short story in a
paragraph, a mini book, a game, a poem, a presentation, etc. They may be as
creative as they want. When they are completed, each group presents and explains
their job to the class.
