Wiring Tower Panels

CAM
When storing an uncrated tower panel, always store it in a
vertical upright position to prevent moisture accumulation
inside the panel. Never store the panel upside down or on
its side.
Turn the cam so it is in proper relation to the switches as
shown below.
During installation, take care not to damage the micro-
switches. Make sure the switches are riding on the edge
of the cam and not underneath.

Span cables to and from the tower panel must not limit
the tower panel movement. A free loop of span cable and
motor drop cable is necessary at each tower panel except
for the last tower. ALIGNMENT

Control and Safety Switch Adjustment

This procedure is for making or checking adjustments of
the Safety and Control switches. After removing the link-
age rod from the cam arm below the tower panel, turn the
cam. Make sure the control switch clicks when the cam is
being turned. If the switch does not click, bend the cam
arm slightly in the direction away from cam until the switch
clicks.

Continue to carefully bend the arm of the switch until the

upper click position is attained (see following diagram).
After that position is found, there should be a slight move-
ment of the switch arm before reaching the outer edge of
the cam. The lower click position should also be checked
for, and a slight downward movement until the switch
reaches the bottom of the cam should be noticeable.

The Safety switch should click when the roller pin crosses
the dotted line (See following diagram). After the correct
actuating (click) position is found, there should also be a
slight movement of the switch arm before reaching the outer edge of the cam.

Note: All switches must be checked for proper operation after installation.

Wire Alignment Cam Retainer
Installation of the cam retainer is an important safety feature. In case of wire alignment malfunction to the cam
arm, the presence of this retainer will ensure proper safety shutdown.

1. Remove the right-rear 5/16 mounting screw.

2. Insert cam retainer P/N 1217150.

3. Replace the 5/16 screw.

4. When securing, make certain the cam retainer arm points to the center of the cam as shown.
