Transmilenio

Whats Transmilenio?
Well, Transmilenio is a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system of transport. The first BRT
in the world was made in curtiva, Brasil.
Transmilenio have things similar to Metro system
This system has lines and station like metro system
Who puts it in Bogota?
The mayor between 1998-2001 was Enrique Pealosa, and he was who puts the
system in the city, changing the way to transport to the citizens. Before TM the
people move on in the traditional system
Later, systems like TM was inaugurated to the rest of the country.
When?
First phase: Avenue Caracas, Street 80 and the North highway on December of
2000
Second phase: Avenue Suba, Americas and NQS in 2003
Third phase: Avenue tenth and street 26 in 2013
What have the system?
In 2000, 34 articulated

In 2008, almost 1000 articulated and 410 feeders

In 2015, almost 2000 articulated,

200 hybrids and 850 feeders.

How get it at the system?
The first tickets in the system was the card of one
or two passages. The next ticket was the Tarjeta
Capital, this card have till ten passages.
In 2009 was released the ticket Cliente
Frecuente

In 2012 was released Tarjeta

Monedero to replace the Tarjeta
Capital

In 2014 was released tullave

Whats the system now?
The mayor between 2008 - 2011 was
Samuel Moreno, and he was who
design the system SITP to the city.
Before the people move on in the bus
traditional and TM
In 2012 was implemented for the
mayor, Gustavo Petro. This system
integrated the TM , and the traditional
bus also created two new services the
complementario and the especiales.

Actually the system has been

implemented in a 83%
And what says the future?
Now the IDU (Institute of urban development) is making the studies to implement
in the Boyaca avenue.
This is the system of our city.
