The second grade team wants to share some information with you about

grading. You will be receiving graded papers with percentages or letters

on them. This table below should help you understand those numbers
even better. This information can also be found in the JCPS Student
Progression, Promotion, and Grading Handbook.

O 100% 90% Work consistently exceeds grade-level

Outstanding expectations/standards
S 89% 80% Meets grade level expectations/standards
Satisfactory
NI 79% - 60% Improvement is needed to meet grade-
Needs level expectations/standards
Improvement
U 59 % and Work does not meet grade-level
Unsatisfactory below expectations/standards

Please note, not all papers that come home graded are recorded into the
teachers gradebook for the report card. When the teacher feels the
skill has been practiced enough, an assignment, activity, quiz, or test
will be given to students to assess for engagement, progression, or
mastery. Please let us know if you have any questions. We look
forward to meeting with you on the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conference
Day, Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

Respectfully,
Mrs. Baird, Mrs. Carr, Mrs. Gibson,
Mrs. Klapheke, (Mrs. Kumar), Ms. VanHoose
