Ginalingan mo.

00:06:47 I can see the water.

00:06:50 Wow.

00:06:51 Oh, my god. it's gorgeous.

00:06:52 Brandon: this beach, this ocean out here, it's what we needed today after being
drug through hell to find this little piece of heaven out here is a big win.

00:07:03 Oh, the sun feels awesome on my butt.

00:07:15 See any good spots to set up camp?

00:07:18 No, but I got some tracks up here.

00:07:20 A bunch of bird tracks, and it's more than two toes.

00:07:24 It's not a deer track.

00:07:26 Oh, yeah, definitely.

00:07:28 It looks to me, if that's a cat, that's a big damn cat.

00:07:31 Are you serious?

00:07:32 They're the ones that sneak up on you in the middle of the night and get you.

00:07:34 Robin: The only thing that's going through my mind is, now we're in animal
territory.

00:07:51 I say we go, like, right here.

00:07:53 For tonight? like, right here?

00:07:55 Oh, yeah, I definitely like this spot a whole lot better than the other one.

00:08:00 All right.

00:08:06 I'm thinking I'm ready to get some kind of food in us.

00:08:09 All right, let's hurry up 'cause you got a couple minutes of daylight.

00:08:17 Oh, is that a palm tree?

00:08:18 There's a coconut tree right there.

00:08:20 Yeah, that should have coconuts on it.

00:08:27 This is like a really heavy football.

00:08:32 Boom!
00:08:33 Got one?

00:08:37 Uno.

00:08:38 [ Grunts ] dos.

00:08:41 I'm incredibly impressed.

00:08:53 Look what we got doneon day one.

00:08:55 We did that right there,'cause we're awesome like that.

00:08:58 -Goal accomplished. -yeah.

00:09:00 And it's a full moon tonight, so a lot of good luck for day one.

00:09:05 I want to make our pact right now that we both, no matter what, are gonna
finish this challenge together.

00:09:11 Oh, my god, I promise.

00:15:01 It had four legs, and it stopped probably, like, five feet right in front of brandon
where he was sleeping.

00:15:08 We have no protection from animals whatsoever.

00:15:11 Time to start building shelter.

00:15:13 Brandon: Absolutely.

00:15:14 There are pretty good-sized wildcats out here, so our first defense is a really
good shelter.

00:15:19 And we better be damn sure we keep our fire going.

00:15:22 What do you think about like something like that?

00:15:26 What do you think of that?

00:15:38 I'm really, really thirsty.

00:15:40 So, you want to hydrate up?

00:15:45 Okay.
00:15:45 Are you okay if I go get water, or do you want to go get water?

00:15:49 You're fine with getting water.

00:15:50 I'll get the fire going and have it ready for it.

00:15:53 Sounds good, I'll be right back.

00:15:54 Brandon: We're basically surrounded all by saltwater except for this little
section 200 yards to the swamp in the middle of this island that we're on is
fresh.

00:16:06 This feels super slimy.

00:16:12 [ Gasps ] eww.

00:16:13 I brought my pot to help sterilize our drinking water.

00:16:18 The water looks nasty. eww.

00:16:21 Smells like a rotten egg.

00:16:21 I don't even want to walk through it barefoot, so I can't even believe I'm gonna
be drinking it.

00:16:34 [ Laughs ] is it refreshing?

00:16:39 [ Laughs ] it has a different taste to it, I'll tell you that.

00:16:42 It tastes horrible.

00:16:45 [ Slurps ] it's like a really bad vegetable broth.

00:16:50 It's a swamp broth.

00:16:51 There you go, it's a swamp broth.

00:17:03 Damn it.

00:17:04 Um -- this -- this is a chechen tree.

00:17:09 Brandon: Oh [bleep] it is, isn't it?

00:17:11 we built our shelter under a chechen tree?

00:17:14 That's, like, incredibly poisonous.

00:17:17 It, like, will sting your hand, and you'll get a black hole in your skin.

00:17:23 Okay.

00:17:24 We're gonna have to move.

00:17:26 If it rains, that's gonna create huge complications 'cause that black sap mixed
with the rain will just, like, pour all over us, and it's like poison oak, poison
sumac, and it's gonna be bad.

00:17:42 Oh, man.

00:17:42 Are you okay?

00:17:43 I got that sap all over my hands.

00:17:47 I got some of that black chechen or shintin, whatever it's called, sap on me.

00:17:52 I got it on my shins, my toe, my arms.

00:17:55 Oh.

00:17:56 I got it everywhere.

00:17:57 Narrator: Chechen sap acts like a very strong acid.

00:18:01 It eats at the skin, producing running, scarring blisters.

00:18:05 Its glue-like consistency makes it almost impossible to wash off with water.

00:18:11 Another one like there.

00:18:11 Oh, look it, you are starting to blister on that guy.
00:18:14 Are you in a lot of pain?

00:18:15 It hurts. it freakin' hurts.

00:18:17 If left untreated, brandon's damaged skin could become infected and send him
into septic shocked.

00:18:24 Concerned for his well-being, producers send in the team medic to examine
him.

00:18:30 Why is it spreading so fast, when I'm not even touching anything?

00:18:36 Well, you already have it, so it's just a question of time when it's gonna react.

00:18:41 It's starting to spread on my face, top of my head and my ear.

00:18:44 With no treatment, it's, like, game over.

00:18:46 At first, I thought I could just power through it and be tough, but then when my
skin started blistering, that kind of threw up a little red flag for me.

00:18:53 Your reaction is quite -- quite aggressive.

00:18:56 The medic told me that there was infection, so he put some kind of cream on it
to, I guess, just a last line of defense against the bacteria.

00:19:06 Do you have any allergies?

00:19:08 I'm allergic to poison ivy.

00:19:09 Okay, chechen is kind of like poison ivy, but worse.

00:19:15 Yeah.

00:19:16 Yeah, chechen is like the worst of all.

00:19:20 You ever seen it this bad before?

00:19:23 Just once.

00:19:24 With a white boy like me?

00:19:26 Yeah.

00:19:32 Brandon: I don't feel like it's gonna hinder my ability to survive out here.

00:19:35 I do feel like, though, it's gonna make it a lot more miserable for me.

00:19:40 I think we should do these two trees right here.

00:19:44 I'm exerting a lot of energy.

00:19:48 It's very tiring and frustrating.

00:19:50 Are you [bleep] kidding me?

00:19:54 Oh.

00:19:55 These damn black-sap blisters are killing me.

00:20:03 There's our home for the next 19 days.

00:20:07 Robin did an excellent job.

00:20:09 [ Robin laughs ] go lay in it.

00:20:12 Sweet.

00:20:13 Robin: I see one problem so far.

00:20:15 What's that? you're not in it?

00:20:17 -No. -we don't have any beer.

00:20:18 -That, too. -there's no mattress.

00:20:20 -[ Laughs ] -there's no a/c.

00:20:21 -Everything. -i can't watch football.

00:20:32 When you split it open, could you try doing it sideways?

00:20:35 Yeah.

00:20:36 I'm gonna see if I can make a coconut bra out of it.

00:20:39 Well, your nipple would be sticking through that one.

00:20:42 Oh.

00:20:42 The sun isn't being nice, and I'm getting sunburned more and more as we
speak.

00:20:50 Voil.

00:20:51 [ laughs ] the coconut I had was actually too small.

00:20:55 I'll have to find a bigger coconut.

00:21:03 I can't sleep becauseof the damn black sap.

00:21:06 It itches, and it burns, and it's worse than poison ivy and poison oak.

00:21:10 It really is worse because sap sticks to you.

00:21:12 There's nothing you can do to get it off.

00:21:19 It's day 5.

00:21:20 There's the sunrise.

00:21:21 Give you all a better look at what the chechen plant black sap does to you.

00:21:27 It's gotten worse.

00:21:28 Even after the medical attention I received, it's just spreading everywhere.

00:21:32 All over my legs, and it's getting to be really, really, really painful in my joints.

00:21:37 It does burn. it does hurt.

00:21:40 It does itch. it sucks.

00:21:44 The chechen sap is just destroying my skin.

00:21:49 You are really having an allergic reaction to this all over your body.

00:21:53 I've been contemplating whether calling the medic.

00:21:57 What do you think?

00:21:58 Yeah.

00:22:05 Looks like he's havinga secondary reaction.

00:22:08 Yeah, it's a secondary reaction.

00:22:10 Brandon: No matter what, I'm not tapping out.

00:22:13 Okay. we need to give you two shots.

00:22:16 Okay.

00:22:16 One is gonna be for the allergic reaction, and the other one is gonna be to make
the swelling go away.

00:22:23 Porras: His reaction is serious.

00:22:25 If he doesn't have any treatment, he's gonna be dizzy, headache.

00:22:28 he's gonna be throwing up.

00:22:31 I really feel like I'm about to pass out.

00:22:34 You want to lay down?

00:22:35 Yeah, I might need to.

00:22:36 Narrator: Because of the severity of the chechen burns, the medic has agreed to
allow brandon to continue the challenge only if he receives these injections.
00:22:45 Okay, there's gonna be one.

00:22:48 Here goes the other one.

00:22:49 Brandon: In a million years, never would have thought a tree would mess me
up like the way that tree did.

00:22:55 I hate the chechen. I hate it.

00:22:57 'Cause I've never been in this much pain.

00:23:00 Ugh.

00:23:05 Robin: I really hope brandon gets better, but I came out here to succeed, so if I
have to do it alone, I will do it alone.

00:25:39

00:25:49 (VO) You can pass down a Subaru Forester.

00:25:53 (DAD) She's all yours.

00:25:55 (VO) But you get to keep the memories.

00:25:56 Love.

00:25:59 It's what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

00:27:34 Brandon: I may be going throughpain, torture and tormented, but I'm still
hungry.

00:27:38 Not enough calories in coconuts, and we've got to have protein, so food is
gonna be our priority from now on out.

00:27:45 Robin: I don't like being naked at all.

00:27:49 I was gonna make myself a skirt, but instead, I'm gonna make a fish basket
because I care more about food than wearing clothes right now.

00:27:59 I'll tie all these down here together.

00:28:01 And then we'll put one that's slightly smaller -- -in there? -inside.

00:28:06 Okay. I'll get this.

00:28:08 You still want to split up today?

00:28:10 Yeah.
00:28:13 Brandon: I'm headed up to the north side of the island, just see if there's any
more resources up here that we can find.

00:28:19 Let's check underneath this, see if there's any crabs.

00:28:24 Nope.

00:28:25 Basically what I'm doing is, I'm sticking my hand under the rocks, and if
something grabs ahold of it, I'm just gonna pull it out.

00:28:33 Nothing. nothing, nothing, nothing.

00:28:36 I was thinking I'll go set the fish traps, maybe see if we're lucky.

00:28:42 The hardest thing right now is finding food.

00:28:46 You can't just live off of coconut water.

00:28:49 I guess we'll see if this works.

00:28:52 I put a little bit of coconut in there for bait.

00:28:55 I just hope brandon is feeling better tomorrow, and he can help me get some
food for the both of us.

00:29:02 We're really starting to need it.

00:29:10 Brandon: [Bleep] damn it.

00:29:12 My skin's burning up.it's killing me.

00:29:26 My reaction to the chechen sapis -- it's gotten worse.

00:29:33 It's getting to be really, really, really painful in my joints.

00:29:37 I have blisters everywhere, plus I'm already starting to get nauseous from it.

00:29:41 Nothing seems to be helping.

00:29:42 Medic says just give it time, but my skin's burning, and it's just -- it's not fun.
00:29:48 It's the most painful thing I've ever gone through.

00:29:52 Robin: I can't rest when I know brandon's in so much pain, so I'm trying to see
what we can do to improve the security of our shelter here.

00:30:00 With brandon out of the game, I'm gonna have to step it up.

00:30:07 Brandon: My body's screaming, " you know, I'm fighting that, and I'm wanting
to stay and complete what I started.

00:30:16 I don't want to put everything on robin.

00:30:25 Robin: Go and rest. I'll take care of this.

00:30:41 [ Sniffles ] I'm just so freakin' scared that it's not gonna get better out here.

00:30:44 Like, my body's not gonna heal out here.

00:30:47 I'm in so much [bleep] pain that I'm hindering robin by just staying cooped up.

00:30:53 I can't help her.

00:30:56 [bleep] I know she can make it on her own, but I'm afraid she'll tap, too, and
that's -- that'll be on me.

00:31:03 I mean, this [bleep] is spreading like [bleep] wildfire, man.

00:31:12 Yeah, I think I want to tap.

00:31:15 [ Sniffles ] I don't think I have a choice but to.

00:32:10 car.

00:32:11 But I just keep putting it off. It's daunting.

00:32:13 What if I make the wrong choice?

00:32:17 It's like, if I buy a t-shirt and then change my mind I can return it. But a car?

00:32:22 You don't reeeaaa eeeeeaaaaaly know until you've driven it a few days.
00:32:25 I just want to be sure.

00:32:29

00:32:32 As long as people drive cars CarMax will be the best way to buy them.

00:33:10 everysun-filled day with a refreshingLeinenkugel's Summer Shandy.

00:33:12 It's our refreshing Weiss beer with natural lemonade flavor.

00:33:16 We've been brewing forsix generations and of all the beers ourfamily brews,
this one says summer.

00:34:44 I'm so much in [bleep] pain.

00:34:47 My skin's burning.

00:34:49 [ sniffles ] this is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make.

00:34:58 I feel really bad if I have to leave her, but I got to think of my overall health
first.

00:35:05 How's the water feel?

00:35:08 Nice.

00:35:10 What's wrong?

00:35:13 I'm wanting to tap.

00:35:14 Are you serious?

00:35:16 I really don't think my body can fight this.

00:35:20 You can get through this.

00:35:22 My body's saying I can't.

00:35:23 It's very painful, but it'll go away.

00:35:26 Skin heals itself.

00:35:27 Being out here in the saltwater is, like, cleaning you, and if you came out here
more, I bet you you'd clear up.

00:35:34 I know my own body, and I really feel like there's no way I can fight this.

00:35:40 I wish you would sleep on it.

00:35:42 Don't let a plant ruin what you're doing here.

00:35:45 I know you can be stronger.

00:35:48 I think you should try one more night, and if you feel this way tomorrow, you
should make the call.

00:35:58 Okay. I'll decide in the morning.

00:36:01 Robin: I guess if he wants to leave, that's his choice, but I just want him to stay
because we're a team through this.

00:36:18 I remember reading about a plant that the mayans use as an antidote for the
chechen burns.

00:36:25 And it's supposed to grow in the same area as the chechen tree does.

00:36:37 Here we go.

00:36:41 [ Blowing ] the pain's so [bleep] unbearable.

00:36:48 [ Bird squawks ] I finally found a plant by our camp that the mayans use to
make herbal medicine.

00:37:00 Man, I hope this works.

00:37:01 I'm [bleep] dying right here.

00:37:03 And here is brandon putting chaca plant all over his body.

00:37:11 Narrator: The inner bark of the chaca tree produces nectar that can be used to
neutralize the acid-like poison of the chechen sap.
00:37:17 Brandon: It kind of burns 'cause you got to scrub it hard, but I can feel it.

00:37:22 I can feel it sticking to me now.

00:37:25 Hopefully it works out.

00:37:27 Only time will tell.

00:37:44 This is, without a doubt, the hardest thing I have ever done.

00:37:51 Yesterday, I almost quit.

00:37:53 My partner, robin, told me to give it one more day.

00:37:58 Not a proud moment for me.

00:38:00 It was a lot of weakness, you know, cowardness.

00:38:04 What's rocky say?

00:38:05 It's not how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep on going.

00:38:10 I can get hit pretty hard and keep on going, I think.

00:38:12 If this island wants a fight, I'll give it a fight.

00:38:15 I got 12 days on this island left.

00:38:19 And then the island can kiss my ass as i leave.

00:38:30 -Got it? -got it.

00:38:31 One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

00:38:37 12 More nights.

00:38:39 12 More nights.

00:38:40 So, does 12 more nights mean you're staying?

00:38:43 12 More nights means I'm staying.

00:38:45 I'm not going anywhere.

00:38:46 Sorry about yesterday.

00:38:47 It won't -- it won't happen again.

00:38:48 I had a moment of weakness and collapse yesterday.

00:38:54 You think I wouldn't be weak if I was in your shoes?

00:38:57 Anyone would be in a world of [bleep] we'll be okay.

00:39:02 Brandon: This woman is unwavering.

00:39:04 She's got a mental focus and a drive that I've never seen before, and I think
that's part of the biggest survival skill that anybody can have.

00:39:10 Did you want to go in the water?

00:39:12 Yeah, I think that's gonna help my skin out a little bit.

00:39:15 That chaca bark really saved my ass.

00:39:19 You kind of look better today.

00:39:21 I'm absolutely thankful that I had a good enough partner to help pull me out of
my dark place.

00:39:26 Without her, I probably would have gone home.

00:39:29 Let's go out and go look at our fish traps.

00:39:42 Empty.

00:39:43 This one got washed away.

00:39:44 Robin: I thought we would excel more out here, and it's not happening, so, of
course, I see it as a disappointment and a loss, but I don't believe anyone could
survive on this island at all.

00:39:56 This is hell.

00:39:57 I don't wish it or want it for anyone.

00:40:00 Brandon: We're starving.

00:40:06 [ Insects chirping ] [ rustling ] [ growling ] Brandon: Where's my machete?

00:40:15 Robin: Holy [bleep] there is something here with us.

00:40:23 [ Growling ] I hear it. it's, like, right over here.

00:40:34 I think it's a panther. it's back.

00:40:44 Day 10, not much of a sunrise. kind of cloudy.

00:40:48 Looks dark out there. that wind's cold.

00:40:52 Actually, it looks like -- I can see rainfall.

00:40:56 We might get some rain.

00:40:58 [ Thunder rumbling ] holy crap, we're gonna get slammed.

00:41:14 [ Thunder rumbling ] Robin: Do you think we're gonna be able to get through
this?

00:41:21 Brandon: The only thing we can do is just kind of suffer through it tonight, and
then see what tomorrow brings.

00:41:33 This sucks.

00:41:34 The good news is, we still got our fire going.

00:41:39 But it is raining.

00:41:40 For how long?

00:41:41 Yeah. I don't know how long.

00:41:43 It's cold. it's cold rain.

00:41:55 Second day in a row of rain.

00:41:58 Still got a fire.

00:41:59 We're huddled up.

00:42:00 Watching it rain.

00:42:01 Yeah, there seems to be no end in sight.

00:42:06 It was just downpouring.

00:42:10 Brandon: Me and robin were talking.

00:42:12 We found that the best course of action is to conserve as much energy as
possible.

00:42:16 I could try to go gung ho and just say I'm gonna whup this place's ass.

00:42:21 This island will just destroy you.

00:42:23 The only thing we really have to do now is, you know, keep the fire going.

00:42:28 We should have got more wood before it started raining.

00:42:30 Hell, we can't even go out and try to find food.

00:42:39 Robin: No more rain. please, no more rain.

00:42:41 This is really, really breaking my morale here.

00:43:01 The number-one thing I hate the most is being cold and wet, and our fire is not
going very well anymore.
00:43:10 [ Thunder rumbling ] you think we should go out and get some firewood?

00:43:20 No, this rain's just too damn cold.

00:43:23 As long as we can keep our spirits up, I think we'll be all right.

00:43:40 It's not raining hard, but it's raining just enough to piss you off.

00:43:44 [Bleep] yeah, god.

00:43:47 Brandon: We've pledged to one another that we would complete this challenge
together, and I intend to see it through.

00:43:53 A couple days ago, I was completely out of the game from my chechen
reaction.

00:43:57 I'm back now. full health.

00:44:02 Robin's not feeling too good, and so it's my turn to help take care of her, so I'm
just returning the favor.

00:44:15 [ Thunder rumbling ] seven days left here.one week left.

00:44:18 One week left, and this is what it wants to do.

00:44:21 The start of our one week.

00:44:24 It's raining.

00:44:28 Really, really raining.

00:44:29 Robin: It's thundering and lightning.

00:44:33 Oo-rah.

00:52:23 Brandon: Our shelter collapsed on top of us.

00:52:26 Trying to put it back together real quick.

00:52:34 It's been raining for four days straight, and all our firewood got soaked when
our house blew over.

00:52:44 Well, our fire went out.

00:52:45 Brandon: [Bleep] the fire's out?

00:52:48 We're completely screwed.

00:52:58 Robin: I can't be cold and wet like this anymore.

00:53:02 I know my limits, and these storms are definitely pushing my limit.

00:53:07 I just -- my body can't handle it.

00:53:09 Brandon: It got so cold in the middle of the night that I actually lost feelings in
my toes.

00:53:16 How much longer do you think we can take of this?

00:53:19 We can do this as long as we're together.

00:53:21 We got this.

00:53:22 Narrator: Exposed to five days of sub-60-degree rain, robin and brandon are
quickly losing core body heat.

00:53:29 If they drop below 95 degrees fahrenheit, hypothermia will set in, organs will
begin to shut down, and their arms and legs will lose all feeling and start to
spasm.

00:53:38 [ Thunder rumbling ] I am freezing,and my toes are numb.

00:53:47 Mine, too.

00:53:47 I'm definitely getting very, very concerned about how we're gonna be keeping
warm.
00:53:52 As their body temperatures continue to drop, and with no dry wood to start
another fire, brandon and robin's critical condition prompts producers to call in
the team medic once again.

00:54:09 So, how are you feeling, guys?

00:54:11 -Horrible. -horrible?

00:54:14 Robin: Mm-hmm.

00:54:16 My temperature is 34.2.

00:54:20 They're in the first stageof hypothermia.

00:54:23 The body temperature of bothis too low.

00:54:25 I will need to give you a space blanket.

00:54:38 All right, how cold are you?

00:54:40 Can you feel your toes?

00:54:42 Brandon: My feet and my toes are hurting.

00:54:43 I've never put my body through anything like this before.

00:54:45 I thought I would be able to handle it.

00:54:48 I did for a while.

00:54:48 We're out of firewood and water, and I'm not gonna make it.

00:54:53 I want this over. I want this done.

00:54:58 I want to go home.

00:54:58 We came in this together, and we're gonna leave together.

00:55:05 -Yeah, I want to tap. -mm-hmm.

00:55:07 Narrator: One week shy of completing their challenge, robin and brandon are
forced to leave the island, becoming the first survivalists in "naked and afraid"
history to tap out together.

00:55:19 Brandon: We got complacent.

00:55:20 We didn't gather enough firewood, and we thought we could just hunker out
one more storm, and actually, we couldn't.

00:55:26 We weren't prepared for it.

00:55:27 We failed miserably.

00:55:30 Go ahead, robin.

00:55:31 Robin: We supported each other, every decision we made out there.

00:55:34 There were situations where I had to take the lead and make the decisions, and
I became a better leader.

00:55:40 I achieved what I set out to do.

00:55:42 Oh!

00:55:43 Brandon: Yeah, I learned a valuable lesson out here on the island.

00:55:46 No matter how big of a bad ass you think you are, you can't fight mother
nature.

00:55:50 Mother nature's a bitch.

00:55:53 Narrator: Despite surviving for only 14 days on cayo venado, a severe lack of
food caused brandon to lose a total of 25 pounds.

00:56:03 Brandon showed incredible determination to carry on in spite of debilitating

burns from the chechen tree.

00:56:08 But he and his partner let their guards down.

00:56:11 Deciding not to shore up their supply of firewood left them too vulnerable to
the harsh, wet, and cold conditions.
00:56:18 8 to 6.1.

00:56:23 Over the course of two weeks in the wild, robin lost a total of 16 pounds.

00:56:28 Robin stepped upand was there for her partner when he needed it most, but she,
too, fell seven days short of completing the challenge.

00:56:38 Her final psralso drops down to a 6.1.

00:56:42 Robin and brandon gave ita valiant effort but learned the hard wayhow tough it
is to ..

00:56:51 Brandon: I got my ass whippedout here, bad.

00:56:58 >>> Deep in the alaskan wilderness, there is a family that was born and raised
wild.

00:57:05 >> Let's go, time to wake up.

00:57:07 Another beautiful day in the bush.

00:57:12 Let's get to work, let's go.

00:57:16 >> We moved from mainstream, america.

00:57:17 They formed their own customs.

00:57:19 Their own accents.

00:57:31 >> One down and one to go.

00:57:31 >> You like it.

00:57:32 >> And their only laws of survival.

00:57:33 After enduring tragedy.

00:57:35 >> Guess we just go on now.

00:57:35 >> Yeah, we don't have any other choice.

00:57:40 >> They're determined to find a new place to call home.

00:57:44 >> Hey, drop a tree on us, we'll make firewood.

00:57:46 >> This is life beyond the frontier.

00:57:51 These are alaskan bush people.

00:58:02 >> Do you read me?

00:58:05 Going to need a little bit of help here, please.

00:58:09 >> Myers chuck, alaska, population, 21, it's early and the leader of his family,
billy brown, is desperate.

00:58:21 >> If you can read me we're kind of in a dead spot.

00:58:23 Do you copy at all?

00:58:30 Yesterday, billy and his family, consisting of seven children and wife of 30
years escaped the city.

00:58:39 They were on their way back, but only hours into the trip one of their boats
broke down.

00:58:46 >> Okay, we have a problem, we have a big problem.

00:58:48 >> The family limped to meyers chuck and slept in the woods.

00:58:55 Even though they only have one working boat, it's not big enough to fit all nine
safely.

00:59:02 And the family refuses to be apart for more than one day at a time.

00:59:06 >> People in the lower 48 hear that we all live together and think that it's weird
or strange.

00:59:13 But in the bush, it's a lot easier for nine people to survive than like two.

00:59:17 >> Now, billy is hoping he can find someone willing to transport them to their
new land 200 miles away.
00:59:24 >> I've been fishing these waters most of my life.

00:59:26 I know about every boat and skipper on them.

00:59:28 So I'm going to get on the radio and hope and pray that somebody gets back on
that radio and comes and help us.

00:59:35 If not, we could be stuck in meyers chuck for who knows how
