The Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship through the Tippie College of Business has a paid
internship opportunity available for a student interested in event planning and program coordination.
The internship would begin fall 2017 and end in August 2018 (date negotiable).

Experience Required:

3.0 minimum GPA


Outstanding attention to organization and detail
Ability to confidently communicate and network
Desire to ask questions and learn about the program
Confidence in taking the lead on tasks
Excels in preparation of materials for travel: camps, on-site programs, and professional development
Willingness to work with children and/or parents
MUST be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with children
Previous experience with event planning and coordination

Hours required:
$9.50 per hour, up to 10 hours per week during fall semester
$9.50 per hours, up to 20 hours per week during spring semester
Available to work summer 2018 (40 hours per week, $9.50/hour required May-July)
Extended commitment into fall can be evaluated at the end of summer

The internship responsibilities include:


Assistance with a series of teacher training programs, summer camps, and pitch competitions: logistics,
travel arrangements, on-site program support, summer camp farmers market facilitation
Requires willingness and ability to travel off campus in University car on select occasions to support
summer entrepreneurship camps or other programs
Other miscellaneous tasks as appropriate

This internship offers the opportunity for a student to get hands-on real world job experience planning
and coordinating program events.
