LOOKING FORWARD TO WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Candy and I have been enjoying all the first things at Jefferson
OUR SUNDAY United Methodist Church. Worship at the Park on Sunday was re-
WORSHIP ally fun. A big crowd came out and Randy Gambill, Sharilyn Ow-
SCHEDULE ens, Sue Revels and Michael Bell did a great job with the toe tap-
ping music. We learned to do unto others as you would have
them do unto you and enjoyed a wonderful covered dish lunch. I

Early Worship

10:00 A.M. Im looking forward to my first Wednesday night fellowship. I am

Sunday School impressed with Peggy Philbrick who has volunteer to prepare
meals for all ten nights. She cooks the meals at her home and
11:00 A.M. brings them to the church in insulated bags. All we have to do is
Traditional Service to enjoy the home cooked meals. (see inside for reservations and
costs)

Im impressed with the variety of offerings for children, youth

and adults. There are bell choirs for every age, choir practice for
Pastor children and adults, youth group, and adult Bible study. (see in-
David Lawrence side for the schedule). The hard part is fitting everything into one
night! Well see how it goes.

Thank you for your enthusiastic response to worship on Sun-

day. I have enjoyed the recent series called Simple, but Powerful
Words. I have fun hearing you recite the words of John Wesley
ON THE INSIDE and Jesus that summarize our faith and practice of our faith. Con-

Quality care for people dealing with Alzheimers disease and related dementias begins with family
members and caregivers who are sensitive, patient, and kind. But how can people be empathetic
when they have never experienced firsthand the physical and mental challenges facing those with
dementia? Now there is a way.

The Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT)a scientifically proven method of building a greater under-
standing of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instructionis Your Window
into Their World.

DONT MISS A BIG DAY AT OUR CHURCH ON

(OcToBeR 7)
The United Methodist Men will sponsor a Brunswick stew fundraiser lunch at the church
on October 7 during the Autumn Leaf Festival. They plan to cook 23 gallons of stew to
serve as individual servings or one quart "to go" containers. They will also provide tea, a
corn muffin and dessert with the meal. They will also have 80 quarts of frozen stew to
sale.
Men, women, children and youth can sign up to assist in serving or provide one item in
the recipe that will be prepared the day before the event and refrigerated. This is a large
undertaking and many volunteers are need to cook and serve. Teams will serve shifts at
different times. There will be a sheet in the narthex outside the sanctuary for volunteers
to sign up. For more information or to volunteer, contact Paul Horan at 982-2682.
Thanks!
Our United Methodist Women will be selling crafts, bread, cakes, and other goodies. The
sale will be a fund raiser for their mission projects. Lets all come out and support our
mens and womens groups!
