Project Summary
During Christmas break of my second year at
Southern Utah University I made the decision to take
on something that would push me out of my comfort
zone as well as force me to grow. I traveled to
Barcelona, Spain for one week with the Spanish
department on campus. I was immersed in a foreign
culture, pushed to speak a language I struggle with,
and expected to make friends with strangers. I flew
with no one I knew to a place I had little familiarity.

From My Journal
Being out of the country is very hard. The way of
living, language, transportation it is all so different
and sometimes uncomfortable. I feel so much more
educated in such a short period of time.

I wouldnt trade this experience for anything. I am

so proud of pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

which began construction in 1882. It is still not complete
and is aiming for a completion date of 2026, which
would be the 100-year anniversary of Gaudis death.
