Imaging a hard drive
1. Insert your bootable media as well as a separate, NTFS-formatted, USB or external hard drive
(on which to save the image file) and boot the machine. You will need at least 80GB free space
in order to save the image.
2. When the loading screen appears, hit F12 to enter the Boot Device Menu
3. Select USB Device for a USB drive or Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive for a CD
6. Choose which drive you want to image (typically the first one listed)
7. Select a drive, browse to a location to save the image file, and give it a name/description. If you
have two USB drives inserted, the FAT drive is the bootable USB and the NTFS drive is where you
will save the image.
8. Click Save and select Fast compression. Click Yes to begin the image creation process.
9. Once complete, you can Quit to exit Ghost, or you can continue to step 2 of the next section to
restore an image to the current hard drive.
5. Select the appropriate partition if you have more than one (typically C:\). Do not edit the size.
7. Once complete, you can exit Ghost to boot into your newly imaged machine.
