Sat., Sept. 9th, 2017 invite the community to the 29th Annual Ham and Bean & Chili

West Milton July 4th Festival Is Huge Success!

style. The four-day festival consisted of carnival rides, midway

Family Fun Night Set Sept. 13 at Pleasant Hill Church

The Pleasant Hill Church of God, 115 N. Main St., Pleasant Hill,
will host a Family Fun Night Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 6-7:30
p.m. The event is FREE and open to the public.
Tasty snacks, carnival-style games, Bingo, door prizes, a bounce
house, and other activities will be available at no charge.
This night is the opening event for the beginning of a new series
of Wednesday night activities at the church through the fall and win-
ter. Each Wednesday night, beginning September 20, there will be
Bible classes and activities for all ages at the church from 6:30-7:30
p.m.

Cemetery Walk Set September 10 in Pleasant Hill

The Pleasant Hill History Center will present its Annual Cemetery
Walk at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, located at the west edge of the
village on Monument St., on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m.
Featured this year will be J.K. Teeter, portrayed by Dan Leistner;
Mazie Teeter by Brenda Renner Carroll; Mary Mikesell by Cynda
Renner; and Joseph Plunkett by Norv Deeter.
This event has always been very informative and interesting as we
learn about the lives of the early settlers and their families who lived
in Pleasant Hill and Newton Township.
We invite you to attend our final event of the season.
The History Center is open Mondays from 3-7 p.m. thru Novem-
ber, then will be closed until the first Monday in March.

Youth Fishing Derby Slated

September 10 at Area Reserve
The VIPs will host the annual Youth Fishing Derby on September
10, 1-4 p.m., at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185, north
of Covington.
Head out to the park for the park districts annual fishing derby
and a chance to win a trophy in one of six different categories. Special
door prizes will be awarded to lucky participants. Dont forget its
Grandparents Day, so bring out your grandchildren to this fun event.
There will be a drawing for the grandparents.

As a Trailguide At BNC?
Volunteers form the backbone of Brukner Nature Center. We
could not possibly reach all of our goals without your support. We
are continually in need of trailguides who enjoy being outdoors and
sharing that love with kids. Learn to handle Brukner Nature Centers
Wildlife Ambassadors, including native Ohio snakes, turtles, and sala-
manders. Share your passion for wildlife with preschoolers and ele-
mentary-aged children by leading field trips or assisting BNC staff
naturalists. Programs range from 1-2 hours and are scheduled week-
days and weekends between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Become an integral part of Brukner Nature Centers mission to
promote the appreciation and understanding of wildlife conservation
through preservation, education, and rehabilitation.
Volunteer registration forms can be found on our website at
www.bruknernaturecenter.com. All volunteers must complete a
brief one-hour orientation held the second Tuesday of the month at
1:30 p.m. and every other month at 7:30 p.m.
