Inserting the SUMIF formula

After clicking on the SUMIF function name, the SUMIF function box opens.

To select the range, click on the box as indicated.

A narrow box opens.

To select particular items, pull your cursor down the range from which you wish to
select the items. In this case the cursor was pulled down from A2 to A11. Note the range
as it changes in the box. When the range has been selected, click on the circled box
again. The SUMIF dialogue box opens.

In the SUMIF dialogue box, in the Criteria box, key in the selected words, in this case
Software.

To select the range to be totalled / added / summed, put the cursor in the Sum_range
box and click on the box as indicated.
With your cursor pull down and select the range. Note the information in the Formula
box. When the range has been selected, click on the circled box to return to the SUMIF
dialogue box.

Note the information in the dialogue box. The Range, Criteria and Sum_range boxes
have the required information to total / add / sum the Prices of just the Software. Click
OK
Note the total Prices of the Software.
