2.2 LT CABLE TERMINATION

Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of end termination for cables

1.1KV grade XLPE / PVC insulated Cu./ Al. conductors. DOUBLE
compression glands shall be used for cable sizes above 70 sq.mm and
SINGLE compression brass cable glands for sizes upto 70 sq.mm. The
termination shall include earth tags, crimping type tinned copper lugs and
consumables for the following size of cables.

3.0 CABLE TRAYS (As per enclosed technical specifications.)

Factory fabricated, cable trays made out of 2/ 1.6mm thick Pre- galvanized
sheet steel using proper jigs and fixtures, including all necessary accessories
such as bends, tees, reducers, coupler plates, fasteners etc. Cable tray
sections shall be joined by fish plates. The tray shall be supported at regular
intervals of not more than 1.5/ 2 metre using engineered punched angle
supports / high - tech threaded rods (for 300mm width trays and lesser tray
width) as per enclosed technical specification (Profab Make or equivalent).The
GI tray supports shall be suitable for metal roof with necessary clamps and
fixing accessories.

Surface mounting double door type MCB DBs conforming to the specification
and fabricated out of CRCA sheet with powder coated to RAL 7032 lockable
hinged glazed front door, cable gland plate, conduit knockouts. The DBs shall
comprise of 63A Neutral terminal block for incomer, insulated fork type phase
bus bars, independent neutral terminal bar for each phase where required,
common insulated earth terminal bar and complete with interconnecting wiring.
The IP class shall be 31 or better. The rate shall include costs of MCB /
RCCB / RCBO.

PREAMBLE TO BILL OF QUANTITIES

The tenderer shall carefully go through the tender documents and quote the unit price which
installation accessories & consumables. No extra amount will be paid for any incidental, contingent
A work and materials.

The quantities indicated cover the probable quantities of work involved. The quantities are indicated for the guidance of the bidder.
The order arising out of this enquiry will be an unit rate contract & not a lump sum one. The Owner, however, does not in any way
B guarantee that the actual work involved would correspond to the quantities indicated in the tender.

C No change in unit rate will be allowed for any change in quantity, or for any other reason whatsoever.

D The rates quoted for the "Supply" items shall be include all taxes, packing, forwarding, freight, insurance & unloading charges.

The installation charges shall be inclusive of the cost of shifting materials to the installation spot, unpacking, installation on
E foundations as specified elsewhere, supply of hardware, consumables and any minor civil works involved.

The installation rate of all LT switchboards shall include the cost of fixing bolts & nuts, painting of cable sizes, fixing of nameplates,
F danger boards, testing & commissioning.

The rate for installation of earthing grid conductors shall include the cost of welding/ riveting & brazing of the joints, protecting the
G same against corrosion at joints, drilling holes for equipment terminations, cost of lugs for earthing wires and supply of hardware.

H All testing charges for the Equipment shall be included n the installation rate of the respective equipment.

The installation rate for cables shall include shifting of cable drums, unwinding & laying as per engineering standards all labor
supervision, routine testing, supply of consumables and installation materials such as identification tags, clamps etc. However,
the cost shall exclude steel supports, installation of trays and cable termination as also the excavation, backfilling, supply of
I protective covers, sand, bricks etc. which be quoted separately under the appropriate item.

The cost of excavation, supply of sand, bricks, back filling and supply of cable markers etc shall not be included in the cost of cable laying and
J same shall be covered under appropriate headings in the BOQ

The supply rate quoted for cable termination shall include heavy duty single compression brass cable gland, crimping type heavy
duty tinned copper lugs & earth tag for gland earthing. The installation rate shall include all consumables and Labor for preparation
K of cable, glanding & crimping.

The supply price of power wiring shall include the cost of FRLS grade wires, crimping type lugs for termination, Conduit, all conduit
L accessories such as bends, junction boxes, draw boxes etc., as per the specification.

The installation rates for concealed conduits shall include the cost of chasing the walls to appropriate depth to provide 20mm cover.
Installing the conduits with clamps in the wall recess and rough plastering the surface using cement mortar of specified mix to bring
M the wall surface to the original level. The final finishing shell however be carried out by other agencies.

The installation price of wiring shall include the cost of all necessary consumable required for fixing drawing, the wires and
N terminating the same with ferrules, sleeves etc.

The installation rate of cable trays shall exclude tray supports but shall include necessary clamp/ hardware required for fixing it
O on tray supports.

The installation rate for recess mounted luminaire shall include all the above and the cost of the GI suspension chain and alignment
P of luminaries.

The cost of steel frame work & supporting structure, required for the Switchboards / bus duct/ cable tray etc., shall be quoted under
Q the heatd Supply and Installation' of supporting steel.

The point wiring rate for luminaires shall include supply of all materials starting from passivated metal switchbox, junction boxes,
switch plate, switches, conduits & accessories, wires, tags, earthing the switchbox, earthing of luminaires etc. and no extra claim will
be allowed under any circumstances. The cost of suspension conduits, flexible PVC conduits, wires as required shall be included.
The point wiring rates of *ceiling fans shall include the supply of fan hook boxes in the case of recessed wiring and hooks in the case

The installation price of industrial power socket outlets shall include all necessary hardware & consumables required for mounting
S it on the surface of the wall/ column or concealing the same in walls.

Installation rate for pipe sleeves/ conduits shall cover necessary chasing in the floor/ walls etc., excavation if any and backfilling
T and rough plastering if required.

U The installation cost of surface mounted luminaires shall include the following
I Assembling the luminaire and checking the same.
ii Supply & installation of anchor fastners as required for the supports.
iii Installation of luminaire using appropriate hardware.
iv Wiring connection and installation of lamps.
V Testing & commissioning.

Any item not specifically mentioned in this specification & BOQ but considered essential for satisfactory operation of the system
shall be included by the tenderer in his offer. NO EXTRA AMOUNT WHATSOEVER WILL BE PAID FOR ANY CONTINGENT
V SUPPLY OR INSTALLATION WORK.
