modern and stylish mammography unit combining high quality imaging with advanced ergonomics for the user.
Thanks to the use of the most advanced technology, the accuracy of the exposures is allowing a precise diagnosis,
yet special attention has always paid to the reduction of the radiation dose given to the patient. Integrated procedures
for quality control and self-calibration make possible an accurate adjustment of the systems parameters, to obtain
reliability and repeatability of the diagnostic results.

Melody III analog system Melody III-d digital system

The film-based version of Melody III represents the entry-level
solutions for the mammographic systems by Villa Sistemi
Medicali; it provides the users with an optimal imaging perfor-
mance, with high quality of the X-ray technology at an attrac-
tive price. The unit is available as 18x24cm or 24x30cm system,
yet is also available in a specific configuration integrating a
dual-size cassette holder, accepting both 24x30cm and
18x24cm cassettes.
Any version can be equipped with Isocentric C-arm, making
Melody III a biopsy ready unit compatible with the stereotactic
biopsy system BYM 3D; thanks to this different arms geome-
try, it is possible to switch from cranio-caudal to lateral views
without needing to re-adjust the vertical level of the unit,
thus improving patients comfort and allowing time saving
for high-workflow environments.
Melody III-d shares the same platform of the analog unit, yet
features an A-Se Flat Panel Detector and an acquisition worksta-
tion that can be integrated with an additional workplace for
visualization and reporting. Amorphous Selenium technology
assures maximized signal/noise ratio, as long as the X-Radiation is
transformed directly into electric charges without an intermediate
step to convert X-Ray energy to light. This direct detection avoids
a light diffusion effect degrading image quality and produces a
clear signal profile with the preservation of the image sharpness.
The unit features motorized rotating arm, biangular X-ray tube
with Tungsten anode and automatic collimator with automatic
filters; the secondary user interface includes a keyboard with
ACR codes identifying the type of view and the operating tech-
nique. Melody III d can be equipped with the digital Stereotactic
Biopsy System BYM 3D FFDM.
