Introduction

A tape is used not only in measuring horizontal distances, but is also used in other functions. In
this exercise, the objective is to form a perpendicular line form another line, to measure an angle from
one line segment to another, to measure distances on an obstructed path and to calculate the area of a
specified ground. By this, measuring tape can be a substitute to other surveying instruments that are
either heavy, expensive or too difficult to bring in the field.
