Conclusion:

Measuring horizontal distance, either on level or on sloping grounds, can be executed with the
use of tape. Even though pacing is used to estimate the horizontal distance between line AB, still taping
gives a more precise result than pacing. Errors may come from the tension applied and linemans view of
the activities of head tapeman and rear tapeman.

Meanwhile, clinometer and breaking the tape method can be used in measuring horizontal
distance over sloping ground. It is advisable to use clinometer method than breaking the tape method
since the former can commit lesser error than the latter.

In this exercise, it is recommended to use the taping method over a shorter distance since errors
may become large as the horizontal distance increases. In addition, do not execute the experiment on a
windy weather condition, since this can generate more error than a sunny weather condition. Enough
tension is also needed to gain more precise measurements.
