GODS CALL to SERVICE

Who has been given this privilege of fulfilling the commission of Christ?

The church is God's appointed agency for the salvation of men. It was organized for service, and its mission is to
carry the gospel to the world. From the beginning it has been God's plan that through His church shall be
reflected to the world His fullness and His sufficiency. The members of the church, those whom He has called
out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches
of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to "the principalities and
powers in heavenly places," the final and full display of the love of God. Ephesians 3:10. {AA 9.1}

From the quote answer the following questions:

1. Identify who has/ve been given the comission.

2. Enumerate the work/s that has/ve been given for it/ them to fulfill and what each means.
3. Identify the exhortations given for it to do its task faithfully. (if given)

Why is it important to do this work?

The judgments of God are in the earth, and, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, we must give the message of
warning that He has entrusted to us. We must give this message quickly, line upon line, precept upon precept.
Men will soon be forced to great decisions, and it is our duty to see that they are given an opportunity to
understand the truth, that they may take their stand intelligently on the right side. The Lord calls upon His
people to labor--labor earnestly and wisely--while probation lingers. {9T 126.3}

From the quote answer the following questions:

What are the reasons (from the passage) that tell us why it is important to do the work?
What kind of message are we bidden to give? How are we to give the message?
What are these great decisions that men are soon to be forced to make?
In view of this, what is our duty and what is God's calling to us? How can we do our duty?

Why, then, have not church members accepted the responsibility?

There has been but little of the missionary spirit among Sabbathkeeping Adventists. If ministers and people were
sufficiently aroused, they would not rest thus indifferently while God has honored them by making them the depositaries
of His law by printing it in their minds and writing it upon their hearts. These truths of vital importance are to test the
world; and yet in our own country there are cities, villages, and towns that have never heard the warning message. Young
men who feel stirred by the appeals that have been made for help in this great work of advancing the cause of God make
some advance moves, but do not get the burden of the work upon them sufficiently to accomplish what they might. They
are willing to do a small work which does not require special effort. {3T 202.2}

From the quote answer the following questions:

What is the reason why church members have not accepted the responsibility?
What could be the reason why there is little missionary spirit among SDAs?
How has God honored his people? What does that mean?
What is God's people responding to this honor given them?
What is the reason why many people still have never heard the warning message?
How are the young men responding to the appeals given them for the work? What might be the reason for this?
