Norf’k...translation…Hi everyone, come with us and learn a little
bit about Norfolk
As a health care worker your ability to understand and take into account
various cultures is valuable when dealing with clients from different cultural
backgrounds. Norfolk Island boasts a long and proud history with European,
Australian and Polynesian influence. It is this combination coupled with its
isolation that makes the current Island culture so distinctive. Explore some of
these wonders in an outdoor Cultural Classroom. Weaving, dancing, cooking,
Norf’k language, crafts and more.
Geoffrey will provide a brief outline of the history, structure and role of Coroner's
Courts, the types of Coronial proceedings in which nurses may become involved,
the types of evidence which nurses may be required to provide to a Coroner's Court,
record keeping and statements by nurses regarding deaths of persons in their care,
potential risks or pitfalls for nurses involved in coronial proceedings and finally should
nurses be legally represented in coronial proceedings and if so, who should provide
such legal representation?

interesting individuals.

Due to their position in the care team, nurses find themselves in the situation of

DAY 4
1400 HISTORIC KINGSTON TOUR
INCORPORATING OLD HOSPITAL &
AFTERNOON TEA
Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Heritage Area (KAVHA) is significant for its
association with four distinct settlement periods in one place: the pre-
European Polynesian occupation; the First and Second Settlements during
the convict era (1788-1814, 1825-55); and the Pitcairn period (1856 –
present), referred to as the Third settlement.
KAVHA holds important symbolic, ceremonial, religious, lifestyle and
cultural association in a unique built and natural environment. It is
significant for its association with the settlement of the Pitcairners and the
evolution and development of the Norfolk Island community. Enjoy a
