Soil Sandwich

A Low-tech method of creating a soil-less media for vertical leafy green production in a hydroponic or
aquaponic setting. The Soil Sandwich can reach a much larger market compared to existing soilless
grow technologies

It must be noted that this is more of a DYI technology and I believe it can be of great use for
development projects that focus on food security or agropreneurs do not have a dollar to spare.

It combines the following in a layers setting that can retain a number of plants dependent on the
length of the sandwich (~ 20cm/plant):
Carbon impregnated foam filter sheets
Wicking Strip
Square drain pipe
Elastic bands
S-hooks
Drain sheet (non corrosive material)
