Insect Repellent Clothing from

We are all aware of the importance of covering up and protecting ourselves from the harmful effects of the sun,
especially when seated in a kayak. Its great to see how seriously many kayak fishers take UV protection by covering

that I had the relative security of 15lb fluo-

the longer the fight went, the more ner-

very welcome capture. It was hard to get an
accurate measurement in the yak, but the
fish was between 76-77cm and I was rapt!
Carefully I managed to extract the lure
without damage to the fish and noted with
interest that the leader was indeed quite
scuffed where it had been rubbing on the
fishs teeth during the fight.
After some quick photos I swam my fish
beside the yak as I pedalled back into the
current, allowing it time to recover with
lots of water flushing through its gills. As
aforementioned, bull sharks are known to
frequent these waters, so it was with some
relief that the fish recovered and swam
away in good health without becoming a
shark snackand I was happy to get my
hand out of the water too.
Brad was straight back into the action
and onto a flattie, but I was content to bask
in the afterglow of the experience, one that
I will remember for many years to come.
That was my moment, the one that will
keep me coming back.
