This document discusses a robot named Kaiko that was built by scientists to survey the ocean floor from a research ship. Kaiko was released to collect plant and animal samples but disappeared during a storm in 2003. Its location remains a mystery as scientists have been unable to make contact.

B Write a short paragraph about Kaiko. Use the following words:
contact, float. surface, survey, and release. Use the correct verb tense or the correct singular or plural noun form. Scientists built a robot Kaiko for survey the ocean floor. Scientists controlled Kaiko in research ship, research ship floated on the ocean surface. Mother ship released Kaiko to the ocean floor, it collected plants and animals for sample. But in 2003, happened a storm. Kaikos disappearance is still a mystery. Scientists cant make contact Kaiko. 7 DISCUSSION Discussion the following questions in pairs or groups. 1. Where is Kaiko? Would you rather go to the top of Mount Everest or to the bottom of the Mariana Trench? Explain. I would rather go to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, because I think in the ocean so deepest no more human go to deepest. Bottom of the Mariana be interesting for me, but some time I might find Kaiko. 3. It is expensive to explore the ocean floor. Do you think it is a good use of money? What do you think scientists are looking for and may find? I think its worth for Kaiko, it can explore deep parts of the ocean for take some sample to scientists. I think scientists find new lifes in the ocean. New lifes are plants or animals.
