THE PARK OPENS SHORT CIRCUIT GALLERY OF PUBLIC ART
AND TURNS ITSELF INTO AN OPEN DOOR MUSEUM
On September 21, the UFRJ Science Park opens the Short Circuit Gallery of Public
Art, a partnership of the institution with the School of Fine Art (EBA/UFRJ) and
Vallourec. Within the 350 thousand square meters of the Park, 16 art works of
professors and students from EBA and of both nationally and internationally
renowned artists such Miguel Gontijo, Gilberto Lustosa, Paulo Laender, among
others will be exhibited. The idea of the Project is to turn the Park into an area of
experimentation of art combined with technology and innovation. Besides these
works, the gallery will hold 24 sculptures from the exhibition Memories of the River
Dolphin (Memrias do Boto) and a pavilion with interventions created by the School
of Architecture and Landscaping (FAU/UFRJ). The gallery will be permanently
opened to the public and admissions will be free.

Press Despite its scientific development, Brazil occupies 69th ranking place in
innovation among 141 countries. Why doesnt Brazil improve if it is common
knowledge that societies only achieve social and economic justice when they
promote the generation of goods and products that are based on knowledge? The
CEO of UFRJ Science Park, Jos Carlos Pinto has published a news article on that
matter in Valor Econnimo and has been interviewed by Canal Futura. Click here to
