RFP Title:

Analysis Technology for Hemodynamics of Microvasculature

RFP Description:

NineSigma, representing a global pharmaceutical company, seeks technologies for measuring changes in parameters such as diameter, internal
pressure, and blood ow rate of capillaries vessel in vivo (mice and rats).

Background:

It is critical for understanding renal hemodynamics to determine the pathology of renal diseases and consider pharmacological effect. In particular,
changes in diameters and internal pressure of afferent/efferent glomerular arterioles are important indicators which may directly reect improvement or
aggravation of renal function.

As advanced technologies and know-how are required to capture such subtle behaviors as above accurately, the client considers that such technologies
cannot be easily established.

Therefore, the client issued this open request in order to accelerate their research and development in collaborating with an organization(s) with
technologies to evaluate dynamics of microvessels such as capillaries in tissues in vivo, not only renal ones.

Anticipated Project Phases or Project Plan
The proposing organization is required to submit proposals using the attached Response Template.

The client will review proposals and select suitable candidates for collaboration. Once candidates are selected, the client will execute condential
disclosure agreements (CDAs) in order to seek further information disclosure and discuss possible research approaches.

Once the best candidates have been determined, the client will execute licensing, contract, or joint research agreements with partners.

Key Success Criteria:

The client expects to apply the proposed technologies to analyze renal hemodynamics, and eventually aims to detect change in parameters such as:
Diameters of afferent/efferent glomerular arterioles
Intraglomerular pressure

Requirements for Proposed Technologies
The client expects proposal for technologies meeting following requirements (not necessarily already accomplished at present):

Measurement accuracy:

The technologies enable the evaluation of changes in vascular diameter or intravascular pressure highly precisely and reproducibly.
Throughput:

The technologies enable the handling of multiple samples in one test.

Reecting in vivo status:

Desirably, the technologies enable evaluation in living animal, such as under anesthesia.

It is desired that above points have been validated using renal tissue; however, at present, the technologies for other body tissue are also welcomed.

Items to be submitted:

Responses will use the Proposal Template which is linked to the attachments shown at the bottom of the link <REQ9346015> and include the following
items:
Overview of the technology (summary, features, supposed application, uniqueness, etc.)
Current performance
Target tissue(s)
Number of samples assessed at one test
Materials to be used
Examples (experimental procedures, data)
Current research stage
Future research/development plans
Any requests concerning the collaboration
Collaborative research partnership status (presence or absence) for the proposed drug candidate
Status of intellectual property related to the proposed technology
Past research achievements (patents, research papers, research presentations, etc.)
