possible. Established in the year 2000, we had been excellent with producing one-of-the-kind
trips, ones that you surely cant forget. From local to international destinations, we assure you
nothing but purely satisfaction.
A couple of kilometres beyond Daraga, you find the most classic of Bicol's panoramas: the
stand-alone greenery-topped belfry of the sunken Cagsawa Church against the backdrop of
Mt Mayon. Twelve hundred people took refuge here from divine wrath in the form of 1814s
violent eruption and were entombed alive, suggesting that the Creator is matchless in irony.
Hyop-Hoyopan Cave
Cave in Legazpi (Admission-including lantern P250)
Pottery dating from 200 BC to AD 900 has been found in this easily aessible limestone cave,
set on a quiet hillside above a pretty rural valley.
The name of the cave means blow-blow, a reference to the cool and somewhat eerie wind
that blows through the cave. A tour takes around 30 minutes; ancient pottery aside, you'll see
the dance floor where the local equivalents of raves were held in secret during the martial law
era under Marcos, and many rock formations, including one that resembles either the Virgin
Mary or the Devil, depending on how you squint at it.
Ligon Hill
Hill in Legazpi (Admission P20)
To get a really good glimpse of fiery Mt Mayon (and the city), head up Ligon Hill. Its a
steep, but paved, 20-minute walk up the hill. At the top youll find an observation post run by
the Philippine Institute of Volcanology, and a couple of ziplines and ubiquitous souvenir
shops and cafes.
The view that holds everyones attention in Legazpi is of Mt Mayon, but theres another
beautiful panorama many visitors miss: the pretty port of Legazpi itself. Legazpi Blvd leads
directly to Sleeping Lion Hill, located near the waterfront and its rump-ish rise does bear a
vague resemblance to a snoozing cat. The 30-minute ascent goes up a rough path and
culminates with a great view of the waterfront and nearby islands.
Embarcadero
Pier in Legazpi
This glitzy waterfront complex just east of Legazpi City, connected by electronic jeepneys to
public transport stops, consists of a huge mall, palm-tree-lined seafront walk, a Skywalk for
Mt. Mayon admirers and a bungee trampoline, a zipline and a go-karting track for more
active visitors.
