ProjectLibre is a tool used for managing the project in different organization.

Main features are task


management, Gantt charts, work breakdown Structure, resource allocation and tracking. Gantt charts
are used to get the critical path elements of the project schedule.

Allocation: Task are assigned to resource during the preparation stage of the project. Assignments are
part of process scheduling. But there is no guarantee that resources are available for all the
assignments.

WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) is used to modify large projects down into controllable chunks for
better planning and management.

Tasks, resources, and cost are three core elements to do planning, organizing and executing the project.

Steps involved in solving the question


Outline to start the project.

Starting the project by clicking on New the dialog box show in figure 1.

New Dialogue box will be opened which is shown in figure 2. And click on Create project to start the
new project.

In new box shown in figure 3, need to specify project name, manger name and forwarded date to start
the projects.

Once all the datas are made, Click ok to start the work plan sheet or task sheet in which we are
entering datas like different Task, Duration, Precedence as shown figure 4.

Once we have entered all the datas, we can have Gantt chart on right side of the task sheet which
shown in figure 5.

We can easily understand project status using Gantt chart due to its visualization.

The holidays which might have affecting the overall project has been specified to accomplish the task
with in the scheduled time frame. I assumed that to carry out this project in New South Wales. So, I
marked holidays Labors days on 2-october-2017, Christmas day on 25-december-2017, Boxing Day on
26-December-2017 and New Year on 1-january -2018. I have been marked those dates as non-working
time in the calendar. So, available resources can be used with the scheduled in time frame.

After assigning resources respective to the tasks, the Gantt chart obtained was given below.

From resource histogram; it is clearly understood that Principal architect is over allocated
and it must be levelled. In Gantt chart, Sketching Mock-ups and prepare documentations were
over allocated, so I have made some adjustment to maintain critical path as well as leveling of over
allocation After levelling, the problem of over allocation is resolved in the Gantt chart is
shown below.

From resource histogram; it is clearly understood that Draftsperson is not being over
allocated. So maximum utilization of draftsperson during the project is shown below.

SOFTWARE RESTRICTION AND SOLUTIONS


Once I have marked public holidays in calendar, uneven changes occurred in the duration of
project for each task. So it might affect the overall result of project if didnt cross check
individual task.
If we are changing any data after the generation of result, it is very difficult to get correct
answer. Unless we are using Effort Driven function. So, most of time need to manual
calculations.
Drag is helpful to reduce the over allocation of each resources. Sometime it would affect the
duration of individual task. So it cause to change the cost and duration of the project. At
least, we should being notified that the previous values has been changed with new values.
Software is not user-friendly.
ASSUMPTIONS

11/09/2017 is assumed as the start date of project


Saturday and Sunday is considered as holidays
40hrs is considered work duration in each week.
9am to 5pm is considered work duration in a day.
All the public holidays in the period of project in New South Wales has been considered.
