You and your partner are members of an environmental conservation group. Your
task is to choose two animals from two different habitats and find out about the
adaptations that enable their survival.

2 Locate books and websites that will assist you in your

Make notes in your Science books as you are researching
and keep track of the books and websites that you have
used for you bibliography
DO NOT copy and paste directly from the internet to your
presentation
3 Include the following information:
Animals scientific name (e.g. canis lupis dingo)
Physical description
Habitat (include map/images)
Climate
Diet (state if a carnivore (meat eater), herbivore (plant eater) or
omnivore (eats everything) and identify the animals main
source of nutrients
Special features (e.g. sharp teeth, thick fur, etc.)
4 Describe and explain how the animals structural, physiological
and behavioural adaptations help it to survive in its habitat.
(What is it about the animals body, both the physical structure and
internal features that aid in its survival?) As well, what type of
behaviour assists in the animals survival an example could be
migration (birds), hibernation (bears).

5 Bonus question:
What are the main threats to the survival of both animals? What
can conservationists do to help?
6 Include a glossary and bibliography

presentation tool
