September Newsletter

Parents, thank you for attending the Curriculum Night! Our Greek classes are now well
in session!

Grammar and Spelling of the month

The first 3 letters of the Greek alphabet, . The students are learning to write,
distinguish and make words starting from the 3 letters: -, -, -.

In class the students are writing words with the letters of the month, breaking words in
syllables and reading aloud the words.

Reading in Class

The students are practicing reading through simple stories with the spelling words of the
month.

Units and Projects

1. Students will learn the vocabulary with the letters of the month through fun
crosswords/pictures, puzzles, videos and songs.

2. The month of September: Students are practicing to recognize the month and
learn a song about what September brings: school, supplies, and spelling of their
name!

3. Dialogue of the month:

- ; (What is your name?)
- .... (My names )

Greek Language Practice in Class

Fun situations and scenarios are used to orally engage students in:

- using the spelling words of the month;

..- asking a friends name and replying with theirs.
Parents, youre invited to encourage your children to use Greek as much as possible.

Have fun with them in Greek!

Events to remember

4th Annual PCA Fun Run will be on Friday, September 22 in the afternoon. Join us and
use Greek to encourage your child in running! We can then meet at the Back to School
Bash.
