Introduction:
My name is irfan saeed and I am 22 year old , I am doing BBA from University of

Central Punjab. I am a diligent and a hard worker, I perform all my works and duties

with honesty and fairly while my volunteer services. I had no experience before these

volunteer services. I strongly believe that its not the money which makes you work but

its work which makes money .

In 1980 Mrs. Jamila naseer was adjusted as a medical social officer in Services
hospital,

Lahore for the welfare of needy and deserving patients. In the same period Dr Ikram

Qureshi was working as medical superintendent in services hospital, Lahore. Patient

welfare society was registered and established in Nov 1980 under the chairmanship of

Dr Ikram (MS) and Mrs Jamila naseer (MSO) Patients welfare society has been
working

for welfare and rehabilitation for the poor and deserving patients in 1987 , a post of

medial social officer was been erected , on that post Miss Ruksana Gouhar MSO was

appointed for the medical social services project, During the year 1987, Health welfare

committee was formed under the chairmanship f Dr Mazhar ali hashmi .Following

officers have been appointed for the MSO social service project , Services Hospital,

Lahore.

Volunteer Activities:

In this repot I explained my volunteer activities one by one which are following:

On the first day when I went there to start my volunteer activities, I met to Miss.
Sadia Wahab and told her all about my profile.

Visit of Hospital:

Madam Sadia Wahab advised me to visit the hospital, So on the first day I
started to visit the hospital by my self. As the hospital is too large in size I spent
my first two days to visit the hospital and became know that where is all wards
are located.

Learning:

On my third day I learned the work that how to work in office like

Which form is required for patients?

How to fill the forms?

How to talk with patients? etc

In this day I spent most of time with clerk for learning purpose.

Duty in Wards:

After all the learning on the next day she sent me in different wards to find the
needy person. In wards I have to spent time with doctor if needy person come to
doctor for check up and asked him about free medicine facility then Doctor called
me and tell about that person, I took that person with me to social office and help
him whatever the department can do.
It was all about my duty in ward that has to help the people.

As I became know all about the hospital that where is all wards are located.
Madam assigned me duty to sit in the office and if there is any patient came who
is not well known about hospital and finding the doctor or ward. I was there to
help those patients. I personally went with that patient to go for required doctor or
ward. It was my duty to guideline the patients

Cleanliness Week:

One week of my volunteer services I arranged the cleanliness week with

collaboration of Punjab University student. In which I participated with my
financial and physical effort. In this week we all awarded the people about
cleanliness by giving them personally lecture also use charts for this purpose by
pasting them on walls. In this week we also provide Garbage baskets in different
offices of Doctors as well as MS office.

Form Filling:

On the form filling day I just fill the forms of patients. And also I wrote application
for patients who want to apply for medicines.

On my 13th day I repeated my duty of ward which was assigned me by the social
office

Guide Patients:

And on my last day I was in office for guide the patients regarding their different
type of problems which I mentioned above in the heading of Duty in Office.

These are all about my activities which I did in hospital.

Lessons Learned:

The whole set of environment was different in a hospital and especially working in the

3rd biggest hospital of Lahore, working as a volunteer was a new and positive

experience as the workplace was very good for working and I performed all my duties

with obedience and honesty. Arranging free meals for the poor people was such a best

experience for me , I also gain communication skills that how to treat with different

kinds of people. celebrating cleanliness week with the collaboration of Punjab

University social work students was different as the place was very big to decorate

and we had to took the hospital staff in the sync. Hence it was a great experience

working at Service’s hospital as a volunteer from UCP , and I am proud of making my

University individuality much more brighter in the organization.
