The Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB) Program aims to provide opportunities for continuing capacity enhancement to physicians to become quality care providers. As health managers, they must be equipped with basic skills, leadership and ‘management, among others, that will facilitate the execution of their functions. They must be cognizant of the health economic situation in their areas as well as the strategies to be employed in such situation. ‘They must also be equipped with basic knowledge on local governance, problem-based leaming, career development and management and the procurement proce: In this regard, the Department of Health (DOH) in partnership with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) conceptualized the Master in Public Management Major in Health Systems and Development Course specifically tailored for DTTBs. The program is designed in order for the DTTB to graduate from the program with a master’s degree in 2 years through an enrollment scheme.
