Who: Childrens choir from local school

What: Singing

When: Once a month

Where: Genesis HealthCare Facility (dining room)

Why: There are many residents here who have dementia or Alzheimers, and it would be good

for them to see new and different faces of children instead of the same adults every week. We

already have a couple that comes to sing, as well as a church choir, but they sing Gospel songs.

We have some residents who do not attend because they are not religious or it does not get their

attention. A select few residents do not have any children of their own, grandchildren, or even

family members/friends to come see them every day. It would be great if a non-religious group

of young children would come to sing for them once a month or even put on a small skit. A child

can brighten an elderly persons day and bring a smile to their face when they are feeling

depressed or lonely. I think these residents would enjoy seeing the diverse group of young

children, and look forward to having them stop by every month.
