Information About This Class

Description
Developing vocabulary, applying more complex phonics, correcting punctuation, understanding money,
understanding geometric shapes, applying methods of measurement and exploring probability.

Expectations and Goals

Always do your best, always use kind words, share, raise your hand to speak, participate, do all your
homework, and arrive on time.

Course Materials
Required Materials
1. Backpack: to carry homework or books that must be taken home.
2. Pencils: pencils should be left at home for students to do homework.
3. Smiles: school is a fun place to be.
4. Positive attitude: wanting to learn every day.
Optional Materials
Books for home use, reading at home is important.

Morning Routine
Arrive no later than 8:00 AM or else youre tardy. Breakfast is from 7:30-7:45AM.

Upon arrival:
Turn in homework folder in folder basket.
Take out morning packet and begin working silently.
ELA takes place in the morning. Math takes place in the afternoon.
Recess is at 10:00 AM and Lunch is served at 11:30AM School is out at 2:35 PM

Grading
Students must complete all daily class work as it will be collected and checked for
understanding.
Weekly spelling tests are given with 10 words plus additional sight words that may vary.
Teacher will keep student portfolios for each student that will include work samples, notes,
district benchmarks, and all class work.
Report cards are sent home after each quarter.
