1. Set the security settings of the PTC folder: Navigate to C:\Program Files Right-click on the PTC folder and select Properties Select the Security tab and then click the Edit button Under Group or user names select Users and then click the check box next to Full control and under Allow Click OK to set your permissions for the folder and OK again to set your Properties
2. Determine the Build Code (version) of your software.
If youre using Creo 2.0 navigate to: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\Common Files If youre using Creo 3.0 navigate to: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 3.0 In this folder there should be a folder that starts with M or F and ends with three digits. Please write down the name of this folder. Ex: M010 or M070
3. Download and run the configuration executable:
Download the configuration executable here: http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/configure_for_schools.exe In the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box, click OK Set the Unzip to folder: path to o For Creo 2.0: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\Common Files\[Your Build Code]\creo_standards o For Creo 3.0: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 3.0\[Your Build Code]\Common Files\creo_standards Click Unzip to place the files Click OK and then Close 4. Run the configuration .bat file: Navigate to the Common Files folder o For Creo 2.0: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\Common Files\[Your Build Code]\creo_standards o For Creo 3.0: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 3.0\[Your Build Code]\Common Files\creo_standards Double click on the configure_for_schools file Type the number of the drawing standard and unit system that you would like to use and press Enter o If you are using any of PTCs curriculum such as How to Model Almost Anything, please use 1 ASME drawings with INLBS unit system Press any other key to exit
