Pork Siomai (Shumai)


Ingredients

1 pack siomai wrapper


1/2 kilo Monterey Ground Lean Pork (Kasim)
250 grams Monterey Pork Fatback, coarsely chopped
100 grams shrimps, shelled and diced
250 grams turnips, grated and squeezed
1/3 cup spring onions, chopped
1 pc egg
1 cup cornstarch
2 tsp refined salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp sesame oil

Procedure

1. Mix siomai filling ingredients in a bowl. Set aside in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2. Fill each siomai wrapper with 2 tsps filling. Steam for 8 to 10 minutes.
3. Serve warm with a dip made of soy sauce and freshly-squeezed calamansi juice.
4. Serving good for 45 pieces.
