The Data Acquisition (DAQ) System is the connection between the sensor devices, the actuator devices,

and the computer system. One of the main purpose is to convert analog signals from the real world to
digital representations for computer systems.

The common subsystems of a DAQ systemare:

1. Analog input; signals from analog sensors,
2. Analog output; signals to analog actuators,
3. Digital input; signals from on/o sensors,
4. Digital output; signals to on/o actuators,
5. Counters; counting the frequency, period, or the number of events,
6. Timers; output event controls or pulse train generation.
