Categorization of astrological signs on the basis of Ascendant

In Vedic astrology, every Ascendant is assigned a Badhak planet. There are different
Badhak planets for every ascendant. The twelve astrological signs have been
divided into three categories on the basis of their characteristics. On the basis of
these categories, Badhak planets in your Kundali are determined.

Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are considered to be movable signs. In other
words, they are always moving. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are considered
to be fixed signs. As you must have understood, they are not moving.

On the other hand, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces are dual-natured signs. At
times they are moving. While they are stationary during other times.

Determination of Badhak planet by Birth Ascendant

a movable sign like Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn is present in birth ascendant,
the Lord of eleventh house is considered to be Badhak.

On the other hand, if a fixed sign like Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius is present in
birth ascendant, the Lord of ninth house is considered to be Badhak.

If a dual-natured sign like Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces is present in birth

ascendant, the Lord of seventh house is considered to be Badhak. However, many
scholars believe that other planets in eleventh, ninth and seventh house also act as
Badhkesh.

Characteristics of Badhak Planet

In this slide, we will talk about the characteristics of Badhak planet. Basically, we will
understand how Badhak planets work. As the name suggests, a Badhak planet
create obstacles or problems during its Dasha/Antardasha.

During Dasha of a Badhak planet, it tends to cause more harm on its own. A Badhak

planet is associated with an inauspicious planet in your Kundali, its results are
amplified.

Eleventh house is associated with benefits in your Kundali. Similarly, ninth house in
your Kundali is associated with fortune. On the other hand, seventh house in your
Kundali helps you study all kinds of partnerships. Even your married life is studied
through this house.

During Dasha or Antardasha of eleventh house in your Kundali, it is believed that

you will receive benefits in life. Arent you supposed to receive any benefits if the
Lord of eleventh house acts as Badhak ? Hence, you should not reach a conclusion

In the same way, how can the Lord of ninth house, which is considered to be the
most powerful trine, suddenly becomes inauspicious since it is Badhakesh ?
