Language Expectations/Goals:
Speak Spanish as much as possible (see
below instructions for when you dont know
something).
When were in el crculo, speak 100%
Spanish.
Be fearless with your language skills.
Take risks and make mistakes!
Infer meaning and circumlocute (describe
the word, draw it or act it out if you dont
know it).
Participate, be respectful and be part of our
language community!

Consequences for violating a rule:
Violating a classroom rule will result in one or
more of the following:
Warning by teacher
Referral to another classroom during class
Time owed after class
Conference with teacher (before/afterschool)
Phone call home
Phone call to athletic coach
Referral to office
Grades:
You will have approximately 2 grades per week. Each grade will fall under one of the
following categories and hold the percentage listed below:
o 50% - Informal Assessments (Homework, daily activities, informal assessments)
o 50% - Formal Assessments (Tests, quizzes, formal presentations and projects)

Absences & Make-Up :

Before returning, go to the calendar on my website to obtain assignments. Print out
any necessary worksheets or come by my classroom to get them. If the website says,
Must make up in tutoring, set an appointment with me to do so.
Remember that you are responsible for any assignment announced prior to your
absence upon your return. You will have one day per absence day to complete your
work. MAKE-UP WORK IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE ASK FOR ASSISTANCE IF YOU
ARE UNCLEAR ABOUT EXPECTATIONS.

Late Work:
Late work is defined as any assignment that is not submitted, completed, on the due
date and class period with the exception of make-up work for absences or approved
school activities.
A 20% deduction from the total grade from the total grade earned will be taken for
late assignments.
Late assignments will be accepted until a summative assessment over the material
has been given or within a three-week grading period.
Extenuating circumstances may occur that prevent the completion and turning in of
assignments on the due date but it is the parent/guardian and/or students
responsibility to inform the teacher. When this occurs an exception to the rule may or
may not be granted. The teacher and/or appropriate administrator shall have the
authority to render a final decision.

Plagiarism: Electronics policy and consequences:

Any work that you did not complete
and that is turned in as your own
(without proper documentation) will
be considered cheating and will
receive a grade of zero.
Do not unintentionally (or
intentionally) steal someone elses
thoughts, ideas or words. This also
refers to Google translate or any
other translator. Use google ONLY as
one would use a dictionary to find the
meaning of a word. The dictionary
DOES NOT give full translations.
At the beginning of the class the
Electronics sign will be set to one of
three options: No electronics will be used
in class , electronics will be used later, or
electronics will be used at the beginning
of class.
Unless the teacher has given you or the
class explicit instructions to have phones
out, they need to be a) completely out
of sight or b) in the cell phone holder.
When student is not using the device for
instructional purposes, the school policy
will be followed.
