The mental capacity act is a law that is applicable in England and Wales.

This law
is designed to help individuals who have difficulty in making decisions in certain
aspects of life. These individuals include people experiencing dementia, brain
injury, stroke, etc. According to the MCA, these individuals should be given the
freedom to make decisions for themselves since these individuals are not totally
incapacitated to make decisions for themselves. MCA gives these handicapped
individuals the right to make decisions. But other people can aid these
handicapped individuals. An example of how other people can help these handicapped
individuals is by providing information in an easier to understand form.
