INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF LAB JOURNAL

1. Choose a clip file with transparent cover as shown in Figure 1.


2. The first page in the file should bear the name and roll no of the student
(FONT SIZE=18, Arial Font). Use the Template (as shown)
3. The second page should contain a table showing the experiment No,
objective and date performed. The last two columns should be left blank (for
teachers assessment). Use the Template (as shown)
4. For each experiment, follow the instructions as given in APPENDIX A.
5. Hard copy of the lab journal (and soft copy in MS word format
containing Matlab codes) should be submitted by the end of semester.

APPENDIX A: Instructions for journal writeup

Provide the following information pertaining to each experiment:

a. Experiment No., Objective, Problem statement,


b. Neatly labelled diagram / figure of process (if any) with figure no.
c. Notations of variables and parameters along with consistent units
d. Assumptions with justifications
e. Model equations (sequentially numbered)
f. Listing of variables and parameters (in tabular form) with
numerical values for the knowns
g. Theoretical background of the numerical technique for the
solution of problem.
h. Results (in the form of tables / graphs) and Discussion on results
