EXPERIMENT 1: SINGLE ACTING CYLINDER

Objective:

To comprehend the operation of a single acting cylinder and direct command of

this using a normally closed 3/2 valve.

To understand the operation of the indirect command by means of a monostable

air-piloted valve, with another 3/2 valve controlled by pushbutton.

Part 1: Direct command

Description:
Pushbutton - controlled normally closed 3/2 valve must be used to control a single
acting cylinder so that, when the button is pressed, the cylinder moves out and, when it
is released, the cylinder returns to the initial position.

Part 1: INDIRECT COMMAND FOR A SINGLE ACTING CYLINDER

Description:

o A single acting cylinder will be driven by the effect of a single air-piloted

spring-return 5/2 monostable valve.

o Activation by push-button of a normally closed 3/2 valve will provide the

signal to activate the valve moving the cylinder.

 o The cylinder will move out when the push-button is pressed, and will move
in when the user releases it.
