THE ROOT OF POVERTY: EDUCATIONAL

INEQUALITY
Throughout the course of this semester, I explored how educational inequality started and how it is still taking

place. It is never clear as to who is to blame, since inequality in the education system did not happen

overnight. The most basic reason is defunding of public schools. Defunding is based on what seems like

GPAs, high stake test scores, and drop out rates, while it is actually based on race, social class, and gender.
