Research Brief

 Our research is to do the analysis on the expansion


of the café shop. We are focusing on introducing
new product lines and new infrastructure to our
café.

 We will be considering certain variables which set


the choice of the individual regarding their tastes
and preferences.

 We will be considering the Ambience expansion


according to highlights given by the consumer
survey.

 Décor and Architecture:

Café’s internal décor and architecture expresses the


simplicity customer’s would normally associate with
traditional cafés.

The furniture which is made of light shades of wood,


and there are comfortable sofas in bigger cafés. The
walls are shades of colors like orange, brown with
various photographs of coffee beans, lively photos
spread around each wall.
Approach
 It is going to be a causal approach.

 Assemble focus groups made up of 10 to 12 people.
Create a friendly environment and encourage group
members to discuss our strengths and weaknesses
 Customers visiting Barista and Café Coffee Day outlets.

“We are going to use Non-Probability sampling


techniques”
i.e.
 Convenience sampling
 Quota sampling
The number of groups and sub-groups within the sample
that will be studied separately. The sample size for each
of these sub-groups would be comprised of all age
groups to get accurate analysis.

 This survey is going to take 20 days of time.


 The total budget would be more than Rs. 5000.
 No research can predict the future with 100%
accuracy. Once we have developed an action
plan based on our research, we are going to
implement it on a small scale first to see if our
research results are steering us in the right
direction, then we are going to expand by
planning out our branches.
