Region 10: Northern


Mindanao
Northern Mindanao has an aggregate area territory of 2,049,602 hectares
(5,064,680 acres).More than 60% of Northern Mindanao's aggregate area
zone are named woodland land. Its oceans flourish with fish and other
marine items.

The economy of Northern Mindanao is the biggest provincial economy in


the island of Mindanao.The economy in Northern Mindanao is
fundamentally agrarian. Yet, there is likewise a blasting development of
enterprises especially in Cagayan de Oro and in Iligan. The well known Del
Monte Philippines situated in the Province of Bukidnon and its preparing
plant is situated in Cagayan de Oro, which dispatched to the whole
Philippines and Asia-Pacific district. The Agus-IV to VII Hydroelectric
Plants in Iligan and Balo-i, Lanao del Norte supplies a large portion of its
electrical force in Mindanao.

HISTORY
1. Brief History of Region 10 (1/3) 1967: Region 10, covering an area
previously refereed to as The Rest of the World, was created. 2,507
members 2 Sections: Tokyo Section and India Section 1971: First R10
Committee Meeting 4 Sections (India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Tokyo)
2. 9. Brief History of Region 10 (2/3) By 1976: Section formation in the
countries of R10 was virtually complete. 11 Sections 1 Council (India)
1979: R10 became Asia-Pacific Region, excluded Africa, which was added
to R8 territory 1980: First TENCON in Hong Kong
3. 10. Brief History of Region 10 (3/3) 1980: higher grade members 7,000,
smaller than R7 and R8 1982: R10 membership passed 10,000 mark , a
growth rate of better than 10% having been sustained for many years, and
overtook R8 1984: surpassed R7, becoming the largest transnational
region.
