a. When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only
one number name and each number name with one and only one object. (one-to-one correspondence)

Lesson idea implementation: This lesson would focus on counting and one-to-one correspondence with
numbers and objects. I would start off by asking them some questions about numbers and ask them to count
on their fingers. I would then show pictures of objects and get them to tell me how many there are on their
fingers or out loud. Then I would move to my PowerPoint E-book where it shows object and number
correlation which is one-to one correspondence.

When my E-book was over, I would have them pair up or get into groups. They would have to choice of
making a book about objects and numbers by hand or they could make a little PowerPoint book (with help if
needed). This allows them to be engaged, work with groups, and be creative. It also allows me to see if they
understood and comprehended the lesson. We would then come back together as a class and review and
share the projects that were made.
