Dear Parents and Students:

Hello and welcome to a fun filled year of health and physical education. I will be your/childs health and
physical education teacher for the school year. If you have any questions about school or district policies
please check your students handbook.

This letter is to inform you of the expectations and procedures for my classroom, in accordance with
school and district policies.

Health & Physical Education Classes Information


A. Expectations
BE PREPARED
i. Appropriate clothing and footwear for physical education
Sneakers (No shoes or sandals)
School appropriate shirt (check handbook)
Shorts or sweatpants (NO JEANS, cutoffs, short-shorts or khakis)
Please try to avoid shorts/pants with large pockets on the side
NO JEWELRY will be worn during physical education
Stud earrings are acceptable as well as religious jewelry
Bring supplies to health class
Notebook
Writing implement
BE ON TIME & BE INVOLVED
BE RESPECTFUL
i. Respect yourself, your teacher, your classmates and school property.
BE RESPONSIBLE
i. Inappropriate language or behaviors WILL NOT be tolerated
ii. Practice sportsmanship

B. Policies
All students will use a gym locker in which to place all of their valuables for the period in
which they have physical education
Physical education excuses:
i. Students may be excused for up to two consecutive days with a parent/guardian
note
ii. For more than two days, a physicians note is required
NO GUM OR CANDY in class

C. Discipline Procedures
Disciplinary Actions
i. 1st infraction: Verbal warning
ii. 2nd infraction: Call home
iii. 3rd infraction: Lunch Detention
iv. 4th infraction: Discipline referral to administrators
v. At anytime a severe infraction will warrant an automatic write-up

If there is an issue I will discuss it with my/childs teacher and I/my child will attempt to work on a
solution. If you the parent(s), have any questions or concerns about your childs progress you may
contact me at the school and I will return your call at my earliest convenience.
