Why the View is for you
The University View is one of the top apartments for students at the University of Maryland. Not
only is it close to campus-meaning students dont need to walk too far-it is also located near a handful of
restaurants. The View is near Bobbys Burgers, D.P. Dough and NuVegan, which provides options for vegetarian
and vegan students. There are also more restaurants in the area.

The View has many features including: a cross-fit gym

open 24/7, a community lounge with foosball tables,
pingpong and a large-screen media lounge, and a pool
open to all residents. Each apartment is fully furnished
and comes with a dishwasher and flat screen TV.

This community is a perfect place to make new friends,

become closer with other University of Maryland students
and make memories that will last a lifetime, said
marketing associate Emanuel Ceron.

Residents can look forward to events happening

throughout the year. Just in August, residents can attend
the ISSE Ice Cream Social on Aug. 22, a social for the
International Students program, and View-A-Palooza on
Aug. 25 where free food, refreshments and gifts will be
available.

Made in CP pool party Renovations to come

Grab your bathing suits and friends because the University Since May of this year, the University View has been

University View supplies, such as water bottles, T-shirts and
more. Other guests at the party will include a live DJ and a
photographer.
This event follows the View-A-Palooza that will occur on
Aug. 25. The View-A-Palooza is a move in block party for
residents after they get settled in. Food and refreshments
will be offered at the event.
The Made in CP pool party will be another social event
to kick off moving into the apartment and get everyone
excited for the upcoming school year. The event will be held
Saturday, Aug. 26 from 1-3 p.m.

Staff spotlight: Manny
Meet University View staff member Emanuel Ceron, or,
as his friends like to call him, Manny.
This Fall, residents living in View II will be living in
renovated, premium apartments. The rooms have a
much different look from the main building, View I.
Renovating the rooms in View II was just the first
step. The master plan is to upgrade all rooms in both
buildings to a more premium look.
Community assistant Fatima Ahmed said that the
apartment plans to continue renovations during the
University View I/wdgarch.com Summer of 2018. These renovations will begin with
only part of View I. The following Summer, in 2019,
the next part of View I will be renovated. If everything goes as planned, all rooms in the University
View will be upgraded by the Fall semester of 2019.
Other features being renovated in the upcoming year include the community lounge, the gym facility,
and the pool area. The community lounge will add a large screen TV, a foosball table, a pingpong
table and more. The gym facility will have an increase in size and equipment. The additions in the pool
area include a large screen TV, cabanas and a firepit.

Manny is from Silver Spring, Maryland, and has been

living there his whole life. At the View, Manny works as
a marketing associate.

I am in charge of all social media, speaking to

local vendors, putting together resident events and
coordinating with campus groups, Manny said in an
interview.

His favorite part about his job is learning more about Marketing associate Emanuel Ceron stands at Stamp Student Union for a

Manny will be a senior this upcoming year at the University of Maryland. He is a double major in family
science and Spanish. In the future, Manny plans to either continue in the marketing direction or work in
therapy or family counseling.

A View of the history
The University View was a project done by Clark
Enterprises, Inc. The final project was completed
in 2005.
Clark Enterprises said the The University View
was voted the best place to live off campus.
The University View has 16 stories and contains
352 units. Due to popular demand and a large
amount of students in need of housing, Clark
Enterprises said they built another University
View apartment building and completed the
project in 2010.
The University View II is a little smaller than the
older apartment building with 12 stories and
154 units.
Clark Enterprises has conducted many more
construction projects across the country
including other education, retail and residential
sectors.

Why students
are choosing the View
Many students are opting for the University
View apartments over other ones around the
University of Maryland.
The question is, is it the amenities, the location,
or the cost?
For Amani Desormeaux, its all three. Desmoreaux
is a senior at UMD and is a double major in
biology and computer science.
I really like how close the View is to my classes
and I also like that [it] has very nice apartments
for a reasonable price compared to other
apartment complexes near campus, Desmoreaux
said. Having a pool is definitely another plus.
The University View has many amenities that
other apartments dont seem to have. That
