An Opportunity to become a Certified Expert in the Physics Classroom

Hi folks! To inspire you to become proficient in the different skills and tools
that are so important to your mastery of physics, we are offering the
following opportunity. We, Mr. Willoughby and Ms. Quackenbush, will provide
certification tests over these different skills periodically. By taking the short
certification tests, you may earn a certification in the tested skill, which
entitles you to:
A card worth 5 points toward any future test EXCEPT the final exam.
Recognition as an expert in that skill in the classroom.

A Few More Details:

Students must receive a grade of 90% or better to receive the

certification.
Students may re-take a single certification test ONCE, if a grade of 90%
or greater is not achieved on the first certification test. For example, a
student may only take the graphical vector addition certification test
twice.
We are designing the certification tests to take no more than 30
minutes during lunch. Students must arrive at by the test start time to
be able to take the test.
Students may receive 5 points on a test when they supply the card
BEFORE the end of the grading period. If the grading period has ended,
we wont go back to change grades.
Students may not apply multiple cards to a single test.
The certification tests cannot hurt your grade.

Graphical Analysis
Trigonometric Functions and Right Triangle Geometry
Graphical Vector Addition and Subtraction
Analytical Vector Addition and Subtraction
 Free-Body Diagrams (w/Circular Motion)
