RISK FOR IMBALANCE NUTRITION LESS THAN BODY REQUIREMENT

NURSING DIAGNOSIS

Risk for imbalance nutrition less than body requirement related to faulty eating
habit (imbalance diet) and deficient knowledge (daily food intake of food nutrients)

NURSING INFERENCE:

Faulty eating habit such as insufficient intake of nutrients to meet metabolic rate and
deficient knowledge on the foods to be taken will lead to risk for imbalance nutrition less
than body requirement.

NURSING GOAL:

After 1-2 hours of imparting of health teaching client, she will be able to gain
knowledge and to improve their eating habits.

NURSING INTERVENTION:

1. Discuss with the client the foods that are nutritious and less expensive.

2. Encourage the client to have eat fruits and vegetables every meal.
- To improve her health and to gain the necessary nutrients she needed.
3. Discuss to the client the importance of eating balanced diet.
- To gain knowledge on the importance of a balanced diet.
4. Discourage carbonated or caffeinated beverages during mealtime.
- It may decrease appetite.
5. Encourage the client to have a companion during mealtime.
- The client may eat more nutritious or a balanced diet when there is someone who
supervises her during mealtime.

EVALUATION:

After 1-2 hours of imparting of health teaching to the client, she was able to gain
knowledge in improve her eating habits.
